You probably went inactive during that time, he was some kid who stole many many featured ghosts in a short time over a year ago. There was suspicion of his legitimacy, and he admitted to cheating on 3 of his ghosts (might be wrong). He was then banned and all his featured ghosts were deleted and some changes occurred after that (what t12 said). Most people in this thread probably knew he cheated more ghosts, but he didn't want to provide evidence for the endless number of featured ghosts he ended up having so he ultimately just let the ban make him go silent for a while. He recently came back a couple of months ago, he doesn't ghost much anymore, but besides his cheating scandal, many people consider him to be a top ghoster.
Well, he was involved in the biggest "cheating scandal" we had on this thread so far. He came up around the same time as RadiumRC, just some months after Cerasium started to dominate. He was formerly known as Alex-P. He started to get really good and beat some insane tracks (like Rotate III without dying) so we eventually got suspicious. But he actually livestreamed some of those runs, so it was really hard to tell if he was legit or not. He ended up admitting to cheat in 3 ghosts (in 2 different tracks) but we couldn't believe he didn't cheat in some others at least. We know he's good, but we need some proof for all of the other ghosts. He was very upset with the whole thing and allegedly broke his fingers at the time, so he refused to show proof of the other ghosts. So we ended up deleting all of his featured ghosts and reviewing all of the 2nd places in the tracks he had features on. This situation dragged on forums for months and months of trying to reach him, then deleting all of his ghosts, reviewing hundreds of ghosts and then deciding which ones would be featured again. I guess that maybe besides the ORG, it was the most stressful thing I had to handle regarding ghosting here, haha. At the time, he got over 110 features (over 170 if we count the ones he was supposed to have when we he admitted he was cheating), so it was something big. He had won like the ghosting awards for like 3 straight months, so we had to redo those as well. Pretty annoying. We had to remove all of his records and awards as well. His ban has expired at this point, so he's allowed to attempt to go back to the list if he shows proof of his ghosts (I have seen some videos of him ghosting showing his hands and the screen without any scripts running and I can tell that he's good, so maybe he can come back one day). He does have a few unverified ghosts, where he beat suggestions that were considered a feature or that we ended up seeing the suggestions and agreeing that it should be a feature if it's legitimate. He said he doesn't really have plans to fully go back to the game, but if he does, he said he'll provide the videos this time. Let's see what happens. Here's a few posts to understand more what happened: https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/official-featured-ghosts.6336/page-431#post-323321 https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/official-featured-ghosts.6336/page-432#post-323536 https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/official-featured-ghosts.6336/page-433#post-323586 https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/official-featured-ghosts.6336/page-438#post-324377 https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/official-featured-ghosts.6336/page-456#post-326317
I personally don't believe he cheated that many of his ghosts, and while you can't be too careful when dealing with something of this magnitude, I don't believe each and every single one of his feats should have been removed. Possibly, he could have been allowed to keep the feats with the caveat that the whole community is aware that they may be cheated. Or as an alternative, Symantec has an account named "rip_my_ghosts" with a singular ghost on it, a tas with his Mario FRHD run, those ghosts could have been offloaded to that account (or something idk how that'd work) and kept in the thread with a sidenote, maybe like "Suspected Cheated" or something. Not saying anyone messed up, just throwing in my opinion.
Not sure what proof that was submitted but if you know a little bit about video editing, you can mask out the username above the rider's head and blend clips at the start to make a cheated ghost appear to be ghosted in real-time.
Some proof was decent, but some of it was just a "live screen record", where he was spacebarring and everything. The thing is that he had a pretty decent knowledge about the ghost code so he would import like a ghost he did previously and share it on the "live", where we could think it was real since he was spacebarring and interacting with the players during the live. I don't remember exactly what he did, but it was something we haven't seen before on this game. He literally was cheating during the live where he was supposed to prove to us he was legit. R.I.P. The guy is young, though, and it's been a while, so we don't need to bully him for that anymore. Last year was full of that already. But yeah, you are right, with some video editing knowledge that can be pulled off. But I think it wasn't exactly the case there.
It was playing back a list of inputs from an already played ghost, hence why the live runs never had spacebar, because the inputs wouldn't have shown up while you are paused, that would have pretty much immediately caused suspicion
Well, you see your wheel has decided it no longer wanted to obey you and therefore decided to teleport into the ground. Simple physics really; don't really know why you need to have that explained.
