UPDATE (PART 1 OF 4):
Hey, guys! How are you guys doing? It's once again time for another official featured ghosts update. This one marks the ending (hopefully) of the ramifications caused by Symantec's cheating incident. We had to check all of his old 178 features/unverified features and see if the current 1st places in the track (if there were any and if it wasn't a trickghost) were feature worthy or not. Besides that, we reviewed about 40 new suggestions and a ghost under review, and we also finally came up with a rule regarding that "switching biking" gltich. So that's what we'll have in this update. In this first post I'll talk about the "switching bikes glitch rule", then in the second post we'll talk about the ghosts that weren't featured, in the third post we'll talk about challenges and unverified features and in the fourth and final post we are going to talk about the new features. Spoiler alert: We did break the all-time record for new features in a single update (it kinda was 85 in the last update that gave features to Symantec, and it's 90 now), although most of them aren't exactly "new". But we'll talk about it later. For now, be prepared for a lot of reading and also let's give a shoutout to RadiumRC and Anonyymi that helped me making all of those reviews and also discussing about the new rule.
NEW RULE - USE OF THE SWITCHING BIKES GLITCH:
First of all, for those who don't know, the switching bikes glitch can occur when the track is still loading and you keep pressing V to switch bikes. Sometimes you don't get it right in the first attempt, but eventually you will be able to choose a bike that might not be available for the track. And that can be very frustrating for the trackmakers, because sometimes you want to do a BMX only track or a MTB only one, so lots of players were asking if we'll consider ghosts that use the glitch as legit or not, since it doesn't use third party tools and we accidentally let one feature slide with it, although we were clear that we didn't really like it. So after weeks of discussion that also involved other players in the past, we came up to a conclusion.
The ghosts using this glitch WILL BE ACCEPTED in the list. However, ghosts that use this glitch CAN NOT steal a fast ghost feature and will be moved to the OTHER GHOSTS CATEGORY. With this, there might be fast ghosts features that will not be in 1st place now, but for that to happen, we'll need to have this one specific scenario:
- The track has to only allow one bike.
- The ghoster has to have the fastest ghost in the intended bike for the track.
- The ghost (most likely) has to be featured before. It seems very unlikely that we'll feature a ghost that isn't 1st place as a fast ghost feature (but exceptions can be discussed to this one topic)
Also, with this new rule, there might be ghosts in the Other category that can be "stolen", but it would need to be a fast ghost with the disallowed bike for a track, and the ghost would need to be faster than the current one featured in the Other category.
