Idea about points

Thanks for your reply! Okay makes sense. I wouldn't have known that. It was just a cool idea on paper (or on a computer screen) I just was hoping to have a way to be rewarded for having good times instead of just trying to finish as many tracks as fast as I can.

 

Make it so that get the points when the week ends. Like some weekly challenges. Isn't Campaign going to be something like weekly tracks?

 

Would it make it easier if you just subtracted a certain amount of points based upon whether or not someone beats your time? Could this system be paired along with the notifications system, or is that too complex as well?

 

This was refering to my suggestion earlier. Based on your position on the leader board, you will be awarded a certain amount of points. If you position is knocked down, you will only be awarded the points for the position. Instead of keeping track of what position you are, and then awarding a certain amount of points based upon that position, you just subtract the corresponding amount of points.

For example:
If I was in 3rd, I would get 15 points (or something like that. Just roll with me here).
If ISLAMUSLIM beat my score, I would be in 4th with 12 points.

Instead of the system constantly keeping track of my position, and how many points I should be awarded, it can just forget my position and change my points based upon the fact that someone beat me. (However, the points ranking would have to be linear).
So, in the example above, instead of the system saying "Okay, now Sono is in 4th, so take away his 15 and give him 12 points" it will say "Sono was passed by someone, so subtract 3 points from his total points".
I'm no expert of how the FHRD community points system thingy works, so I don't know if this is possible. But, I do know that the system sends a notification to someone when someone else beats their score, so there might be a way for there to be a point change as well.
