Hello fellow ORG ghosters and other players passing by. This is the thread for the End Of Season Tournament for the first ORG season. The ORG Regular Season from 2021 took place between March 5th and December 6th and it was a weekly contest where you would race players from similar ranks as you (see more info here). It was a 35 weeks long contest (not counting the break for the GBC3) that has its own set of placements, medals and prizes. However, we wanted to do something like a post-season with the best ORG players, so the top 16 ranked players from ORG got a spot on this End Of Season Tournament. Full leaderboard of the ORG is in the second page of the spreadsheet below, and the End Of Season Tournament bracket with all of the matchups is in the first page of the same spreadsheet.

Tournament Information and Rules:

This tournament will take place between December 8th and December 21st of 2021 and will consist in 4 eliminatory rounds of 3 days each (this can change if needed), where the players will be facing each other in 1v1 matches until someone is crowned the champion of the tournament. In order to qualify to this tournament you have to finish in the top 16 placements in the 2021 ORG regular season. For now, we are keeping the deadlines at the same time as the ORG ones (8pm BRT/6pm EST/5pm CST/4pm MST/3pm PST/11pm GMT, if I didn't get any daylight savings stuff wrong). We are still open to discuss about it, though.

Calendar:

Round Of 16: December 8th - December 11th (Round Ended)
Quarterfinals: December 11th - December 14th (Round Ended)
Semifinals: December 14th - December 18th (Round Ended)
Championship Finals (and 3rd place match): December 18th - December 21st (Round Ended)

Format:

As I said before, it will be a full eliminatory system. The player in the matchup with the best time will advance to the next round. If we get a draw, the player with the best ORG regular season placement will advance. The matches will be 1v1 and if you lose you are out. If you lose in the Semifinals, you'll still have a chance to play in the 3rd place match against the loser of the other semifinal in the Championship Finals track, where the winner will take the 3rd place medal.

Matchups:

So, the matchups have to do with the players's placements in the regular season of ORG. I tried my best to balance both sides of the bracket and also to make the top placed players in the regular season a bit far from each other, for both fairness about their efforts and also some entertainment value, lol. I made those matchups like in June, so I had no idea of who would finish in each placement. The best placed players in the top 16 will face the players that didn't finish as strong in the top 16 right in the first round, so we can honor their previous efforts, but we know that it's never a guaranteed win. Let's see how it goes. Here is what I came up with:



Tracks:

Our main goal was to make original tracks for all 4 End Of Season Tournament rounds. It probably won't be 100% possible due to time constraints, people dropping out from the trackmaking process and stuff like this. We'll have 2 fully original tracks, 1 track that is kind of a remix of an existent track and 1 track will be picked by the team. I have no idea about how this process is going since Madara is handling most of this stuff on his own. I haven't seen any of the tracks, but I'm hoping they are cool, haha.
