Your track and detailing guides are phenomenal and me and many others have used them. However I was wondering Volund dyou have any more advice on either subject?

Be the standard that you want to see lowered.

Lines don't need to ever be connected as long as the ride sort of works. You don't need detail when you can simply do chicken scratch underneath the ground.

NEVER use an outline when drawing, just go for it and pray it works. If part of your ride isn't good at all, just say for pros only and move on.

Sorry to bomb this thread. I just want to say how informative this thread is. Most people I've seen make good tracks and neglect the ride. If you want a good track (aside from themes and detail), make the ride unique and consistent. Everyone likes a track they can play properly on their first or few tries (I aim for a track that takes a few attempts to learn the ropes yet have consistent transitions and stuff).

This thread is great. Right now I’m trying to recreate a ride like mammoth, and mammoth revival by mR..A (http://frhd.co/t/721816-mammoth-revival , http://frhd.co/t/657481-mammoth)but I’m having trouble recreating it without relying heavily on boosts, and recycling a lot. Does anyone have any tips? They would be really, really helpful. Also how do I make it smooth and rideable for everyone but challenging to ride perfectly? Thanks.

    thanks

edit: how can I use track to replace boosts. It just looks lazy and sorta trashy to use so many powerups.

Simple guys just make the character go in most of the directions and use them gravities. I also think it is fun to reuse parts of the track again. Make sure it weaves around fairly well. Use the mechanics to your advantage. I also like to add this method that works well for me is the 2/1 method. 2 being standard lines going in a strait line or simple game play. On the 1 you would add a change up in line of flow to make it interesting. Meaning more fun
