Free Rider HD is the last picket in the fence of the iconic Free Rider series which goes way back to 2006. For the first time in 2007, people could upload their tracks for the whole world to see on a database, thus creating the foundations of the Free Rider Community and trackmaking scene that we see today. During the series Hay Day in the Free Rider 2 era in 2008, we saw over 1.5 million tracks published on various websites in only 2 years and a further 500k uploaded onto Canvas Rider from 2010 to 2013.

A Free Rider 2 contest was held on TrackMill.com in 2009 to have a track be put as the one millionth on the website. iTzChuckNorris would end up winning. His track has been published on FRHD as a Community Classic track.

November 5th 2013 saw the release of Free Rider HD, the most anticipated game in the series since Canvas Rider closed after the failure of Free Rider 3 and the desire for an official successor to the unofficial Black Hat Rider. May 8th 2014 was the day, the day in which players could finally upload tracks on Free Rider HD for the world to see. Over 10 years later, despite the many challenges faced through the game's slow popularity decline, inactivity and battling with developers for new updates, we are closing in on 1 million FRHD tracks.

The concept

We still have 60k tracks to go due to deleted tracks, and track IDs 1-1000 plus 11107-50000 contain no tracks. Because of this, most of the community won't know when we will hit 1 million tracks.

So, I thought it would be fitting to host a community collab to make a legendary track to take up the spot of Track ID 1,000,000 where the majority of the community can recognise its significance. The track ID has just ticked over 990,000. Although the number of tracks published each day fluctuates, I can imagine we have 4-6 months to get the track done. If we don't get it done in time, perhaps I can publish it as the official 1 Millionth track on FRHD instead of ID 1 million (worst-case scenario).

The idea is to make a mega-track with many themes that are recognised throughout Free Rider's history. The track doesn't have to be consistent, as long as it's big, flows well, and most importantly, looks good, we will be cooking!

Rules/Guidelines

1. Comment "In" on this thread if you would like to participate. Anyone can participate, the more the better!

2. Before you start drawing, you must comment in this thread what you're exactly drawing to see if it fits in with the current plan of the track.

3. You don't have to create a ride for your part of the track, you can simply draw a small art piece or help detail someone else's work when given the chance to. IMPORTANT: You can copy elements from your tracks or use saved track codes to create your section to save time so we can get more done sooner.

4. There is no theme for this community collab, let your imagination run free or get ideas from others. Don't spam vehicle powerups. If you're going to use one for your section, only use one type (eg. just helicopter) and keep it consistent, not too short or too long with that vehicle powerup.

5. No outrageously hard rides, this track must be completable by most Free Rider players. Tubes/trials won't be accepted unless they're quite easy. This is a normal community collab, not a ghosting collab.

6. With the many trackmaking tools and Editor 1.1, everyone can participate in the collab at the same time. Just send in your section once it's done and I can start combining it into one track.

7. Once you've finished a section of the track, post it in this thread. If the file is too large to send on forums, DM me the file on Discord: Mr.Phoenix (tomo385)

8. Check this thread for updates and who is working on the track. You may be asked to work on something specifically instead of your own thing so we can cover all bases of the track. If your part of the track is not up to standard, it may be heavily edited by someone else.

9. Parts of the track can be as big as you want them to be. If you want to add more to the track, you can submit another section whenever you like.

10. You can add your name/signature somewhere in your section. At the end of the track, everyone's name will be added as well.
