Here's the thing. You said a "pixelation is blurring."

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.

As someone who is a scientist who studies blurring, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls pixelation blurring. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.

If you're saying "blurring family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of blurring, which includes things from softening to obscuring to covering the whole thing up with a red box.

So your reasoning for calling pixelation blurring is because random people "call the pixeled ones blurred?" Let's get shading and drawing in there, then, too.

Also, calling something pixelated or blurred? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. It's both. Pixelation is pixelation and a member of the blurring family. But that's not what you said. You said pixelation is blurring, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the blurring family blurring, which means you'd call shading, softening, and other obscuring techniques blurring, too. Which you said you don't.

It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

 

Well then, if you can figure out the number of words in a sentence, and estimate the length of each word, then the red box is useless lol
