No, its not. People who can't sing use it so it makes it sound like they can sing great and hit those high notes, when they really can't. I just hate what pop music has become, most of the mega stars making millions today can't sing or play an instrument besides a selct few. Most of them don't even do the producing! They just go into their million dollar studios and sing their stupid songs, then let there producing guys do all the work, then the pop stars make the big bucks. I hate it. Then the lyrics are horrible as well. They sound like a 5 year old wrote them. Whether its Taylor Swift happily singing about how she broke up with her boyfriend or rappers rapping about how hard it is for them to live (even though they're super rich), I can't stand it. Honsetly, I walk into a place with public radio on, and the female singers all sound the same. Some of them can sing, but not enough to be praised like they are. All they have to have is good looks and a catchy song or beat and they're in the buisness! And then with the guys, they just ram up the autotune, change the pitch, making it seem as if they have a voice, then adding some stupid beat, and some retarded lyrics that will get stuck in peoples heads so it convinces the listener that it is a good song. And then the fact that the people lip sing at the live shows, and people think they're actually twirling in the air and/or twerking, managing to sound exactly like the song was on the album, blows my mind at the stupidity or some people who think they're actually singing.

This is true for many- ok, most- new artists. Except for Imagine Dragons, who don't sing inappropriate songs, don't use autotune, don't lip sing, can play quite a few instruments (percussion, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, base guitar, violin, piano, and their voices) and actually have meaningful songs that sound good. Imagine Dragons even created a charity for cancer. And I can list a whole bunch of other things Imagine Dragons does well As for the rappers, I have to say that when Eminem raps about "how hard it is to live" he raps about his PERSONAL problems, not money.
