I do not like the fact that they will get a special star or image or whatever. The Contest rounds are good tracks for some riders, and not for others. I believe that I am one of the best riders, but the contest rounds were not the types of tracks i do my best on. I think it should over a period of time that people can join VER. I have proved that I am one of the best riders out there, and yet not am on VER.
True. Take a look at the leaderboard FREEZ and for the most part its filled with people who spam. The only section that hasnt been spammed is any in the OA section.

The news team was active before you joined the community I think. Sadly our leader left and the team fell apart. What we did was recap all of the weeks events. We also did interviews with some authors.
