That is shitty man, I loved Living up there and hate to hear stuff like this. A large area of wooded land near my girlfriends house recently all got cut down to put up ugly solar panels, it sucks
e; where in Maine are you? I used to live near ellsworth

 

i live up north, southern Aroostook county
and yeah it is sad, i mean i don't mind too much when areas get logged but this company logs to the limit and leaves the land just shitty full of ruts and mud

 

That blows, jeez. I'm headed up to Mount Desert in a week. Obviously not quite where all the logging happens but that really sucks to hear.

Here everything is already demolished so we don't have to worry about those kinds of things. Crazy how different of a world it is just up there.

Also, isn't it best to leave a few trees to help regenerate? Sucks even more to hear they do it poorly

I have a pal up in Caribou btw, he says its mainly fields in that valley or whatever so I'd imagine it's already logged pretty badly

yeah Caribou is the land of potatoes it has been that way for over a 100years lol, i live like 60miles south and a little west of there and it is like all woods for many miles
and yes they have to by law to leave a few trees unless they are planting more trees or some kind of crops but this company logs to the limit and leaves a mess and about half the trees they didn't cut down get blown over in the wind cuz they are not strong enough all by themselves
