      reminds me of this, when I was younger and new and my opinion did not hold much weight nor could it be articulated well. I believe humans are more valuable than animals for religious reasons. If you approach any of these topics with the premise that humans and animals hold equal value, in order to follow through with that and be consistent in your logic, you'd have to go all the way down to like jailing/executing anyone who eats meat. And then where do you draw the line? Is it okay to eat plants? They're alive after all and I've heard they can feel pain. So, if your premise isn't clear when approaching these issues, policy pursuits become even more extremely subjective.
