Spacebar Tutorial - Tips and Tricks (Video)

There are two groups of players in this game. There are ghosters like mR..A Sidewalk
Unghosted Ultraviolet mudkip KORREKT BackStreet Zycerak , and there are trackmakers. And there are 2 groups of trackmakers. There are detailers like CityShep Ishu Volund xwinx zwinxz spruce THEend Wave , and a few others from BHR, etc, and there are automakers like WheelieMaker Lowkeyy (aka prl. duh.) Ishu Noob maybe Zycerak etc. And there are a few people who are good at everything like mR..A Zycerak mudkip (he's sh..posting on his main but he has a lot of dank tracks on @charlezard ). So ghosters don't care bout making tracks and "trackmakers" don't care bout ghosting. Maybe you're trash at ghosting but there are people who are trash at trackmaking.

P.S. spacebarring is not really cheating, only if you use an external program.

 

I'm so ******* tired of you still calling it cheating when there are no cheats used, it's all in the game (also saying that people who use it are not good wtf you're high)
this game has two sides to it, trackmaking and ghosting right? you saying "ghosting is useless, everyone should make tracks to be approved" is the biggest pile of **** I've ever heard since all that is is your opinion with no factual content

I really didn't expect so much debate in this thread.
I just figured that I won't have as much time on FR now so I showed the community what I've learnt about spacebarring. It was a simple, little tutorial to show those who were vaguely interested how to start practising this skill.

Stig So the only reason why your so against this is because of the newcomers who feel downgraded to the spacebarrers?
I really don't know what to do. Should I keep the video up or pull it down?

I like making tracks, I just keep losing all my big tracks due to my computer crashing or restarting. This is why I strongly support the autosaving feature. It will also strengthen the track-making community.

Care to explain how it’s physically possible to finish a map like rotate 3 without spacebarring.

I can see where you’re coming from, but it isint a bad map by any stretch. The detail is insane, the tubes aren’t slippery, it’s just impossible without spacebar and insanely hard with spacebar.

 

spacebarring is trash and by promoting it you are actively making freerider less friendly to newcomers and therefore more likely to die and therefore if you like spacebarring you want frhd to die

Welp, that’s a pretty good scale of how difficult it actually is

 

Dudes, Stig means that you don't know how good people who spacebar actually are. The output result might be 2:30 say, but if you were filming yourself doing it, it could be anywhere between 2:40 and 2 hours, don't get me started on trick ghosting. In addition, having pauses so you can think of what to do next might be called cheating by some, but to pretty much everyone people agree that it is at least not that fair. If you were playing some other fast paced game, and you kept pausing, idk what people would think of you. You also make much better ghosts than non-spacebarrers generally, but that doesn't mean you better than them. The non-spacebarrers have better reflexes than you, and are able to deal with stressful situations better than you for a start. When it comes to ghosting, free rider is basically a reflex trainer. So if you took an official reflex test, but you kept pausing the test " so you could get a better score", would you call that cheating? What would you call it? The pause button was probably not designed for this purpose.

 

imo spacebarring is not cheating because it is a mechanic within the game and its not like if u start spacebarring u r gonna see a massive difference, it still takes a lot of skill and practice to become a good spacebarrer. There is a reason the terms ghosters and creators have come up. I would believe myself to be a good ghoster but not a good track creator. That doesn't make me a noob that just means u may be better than me at creating a track but i will probalby out ghost u.

That has nothing to do with spacebarring.
Some people will be mega awesome at track planning and detailing, but not that ghosting.
And I'm good at ghosting, but trash at track making

 

a slight miss there too when you say non-spacebarrers have good reflexes and spacebarrers don't
imo everyone should and I think most have started by playing it normally and then start spacebarring
i played like six years before spacebarring and that didn't take my reflexes away, they're just rusty
also the whole creating/ghosting **** started right about where stig's first post is

 

Stig This is wrong on so many levels and I am in awe at how ignorant you are to a whole group of ppl who play this game, proving why you are unfit to be mod. I would love to see that status taken away from you. Space barring is a technique implemented into the game, why shouldn’t we use it. We constantly make tracks that appeal to us, seeing how hard or how fast can we go. Even thought you can get good so to say without spacebar, the very best players use it, because well why not. We use it bad luck, calling it cheating is an insult because it isn’t. Grow up mate and act like a mod.

How about a radical idea: don’t change anything to do with spacebarring
