Well, I'm embarrassed now lol. I came off as a nosy stalker didn't I. Well to clarify: it's not personal, I was discussing about homosexuality on a basic level and seemed to have forgot to avoid taking you as an example. My bad haha

You made a lot of good points in this and your other posts on this topic. IMO, because it's a feeling, it is developed over time.

Now this is going to be the shittiest example, but think about a white supremacist. Do you think they were born with hate for blacks? Or were they influenced by things, possibly family, to think that. Back before the entire civil rights thing, most white people just thought blacks were bad. Today, we think that is a terrible thing to think, but back then, everybody thought that way. That's just how it worked. But there was still some whites that were pro civil rights.

What I'm trying to say is that society (idk if im using the right word, cant remember what im thinking of) and the people around us mold our thoughts and feelings. But there is always some people who start to think differently, form different opinions; feelings. Because culture practically molds us from the moment we are born, it is a feeling the gradually becomes stronger.

Even tho this is completely off topic, when you mentioned the thing about genes and our feelings, it made me realize something. Again, IMO, all feelings and preferences are not genetic, or really anything like that. Kind of like what I said above, I think that all feelings etc. are molded by society and yes, we do have some influence on our feelings, but really only when we mature.

IDK, all of this is my opinion, and half of the time, i dont know how to express how i feel/think. And how am I to know how it happens, this is just what i think.

 

Feelings and opinions are definitely molded and developed over time. Romantic attractions could be influenced by the environment after a while, most likely. I'd propose that sexual and physical attractions are much more biological however, whether they are hormonal or brain related, or genetic.

 

I totally did forget about hormones..... like i said tho, idk, and its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my area to be figuring out. i think ill leave that to the scientists.

Exactly this. Breeder, all there is to understand is that it's not really something people have a choice in the matter in. You experience these feelings at a young age, albeit a bit differently, and don't really have any control over whether or not you feel them. It's just how it works. There's no philosophies to be made, because it comes down to how we feel, and not how we function. It can't be changed, affected by surroundings, or even thought through, because it's just this abstract feeling of attraction you may have for somebody.

 

Yep, it's natural to be curious and confused about stuff like this, and even gay people are intrigued by how strange it is. Like Forlorn said, it's kinda dependent on hormones and genes than anything. You didn't really come off as nosy, just curious
