News Issue Series 3, Issue 1: The Return!

Volund The news is great, and it is much saddening that it is dead. Ok, I know i wasnt talking serious but now I am. Would you be up for making another News Series? IDK if you are still around (For all i know you are, but i havent really been paying attention that much) But i really think that we could pull it off.

hey all : ) im just gonna make this a public service announcement and then im never addressing this again

there is legitimately 0 reason to bother with the "news" quite honestly

i have been a part of almost every iteration of the news since like 2015, and the only time it ever worked was when there was like a team of 10-15 people working on rotation on it monthly (before discord was used here). otherwise, people who swear they want to do it really bad and will work super hard (!!!) randomly stop playing the game after a couple of editions of the paper, and then myself and a couple others are left with all the work. or, a team filled with active people in the community flake on deadlines because the truth is, who is going to set aside time in their busy lives (most people here are either finishing high school, are in year 10 and exams start to matter, or are in uni/full time work) to write an article for 20-50 people to read and forget by the next day.
as well, and im not trying to be a dickhead, but every time i have let someone newer to the game write articles/"take over" the news, i have ended up having to take charge and i dont have the time for that (most recent example was with this kid called iNooby in 2020, he had played the game for a month, he asked Char to give him access to the FRHD news... and then the kid left the game after the 1st paper - in which he wrote a grand total of 1/2 an article - and did not help with an article or the news again)

a full, decent quality news article took me alone 6 hours to work on, i dont have that free time and there is no one here who is active or who i trust to work with on a new run of the news

so yeah that's why i have ignored the news and have no intentions of starting it up again. theyre cool to look back on, and the community does like them, but it is not worth the effort

please do not message or ping me about the news again, i will either ignore it or link to this post. unless a miracle happens and the devs start updating the game, the game becomes more active or something similar, i am not writing sh*t nor am i kickstarting the news

if you care enough about the news, start writing your own articles and post them in the anything and everything frhd subforum
