I want to thank everyone who was involved in this contest, whether it be entering or judging, I have always wanted to host a remix contest and it was a big task for me and I personally think it was well worth it.
A lot of my personal life has gotten in the way of things lately so it really wasn’t the perfect contest I wanted it to be, but regardless I am just thankful to be able to host another contest after 10+ years of being in the Free Rider community. So a personal thanks to all of you who are still with me! You are all awesome.

Hello, I've been on hiatus for a bit.

There's not really much to say about that, just been trying to find a balance of everything going on in my life. I haven't been super busy or anything, I've had the time to finish this contest up.
To put it simply, I'm just tired. Physically and mentally tired. Depression gets in the way of life, and it hits hard. I apologize for to all of the contestants for having constant delays of everything. It's not exactly how I wanted it to go but I'm still happy with how it turned out.
The developers have given up on this game, time and time again. But still we find a way to keep it going, and the fact that I can host a contest with three rounds and have it going on for 3+ months is really a testament to the community's longevity and dedication to our passion.
That being said, I want to make sure that I can end this contest and not feel like I just rushed the results. So, I'm going to make and dedicate the time for the ending of this contest, the results for round 3 and the ending contest results with constructive feedback for every track.

I've taken a lot of pride in this contest, for personal reasons, and it's really meant a lot to me for all of you to be involved, so thank you!

 

In the meantime, I wanted to do something fun, introducing



THE REMIX BONUS CONTEST



There will be a bonus round, which has no effect on scores or anything in the contest.

While keeping the spirit of the remix contest, there is a twist!
For the bonus round you will not be given a specific track to remix, but instead you will be remixing one of your own tracks!
There will still be scoring and whatnot, it will be a bit different from the main contest and I'll try to explain it all.

Since you're remixing your own track, the judging will be a bit more complex because you're not all remixing the same exact track. Think of it as it's own standalone contest.
There are a few rules, some to just make it interesting:

You must remix your own track, which has been created by only you. So no remixing collabs.
(This rule you can follow loosely, but it will help you in the scoring) Try to make it one of your older tracks, it'll be cool to see your own improvement. I won't disallow remixing a more recent track, but it wouldn't be very interesting to me or you.
You can use whatever tools you have to disposal (track mover, enlarger etc.), and there is no theme or anything so go crazy.

Scoring:
This part will be a bit different, because the rules have changed a bit

Improvement - Your detail, track, ideas, creativity, an overall improvement from your past self
Detail - This will still be a big factor for your track, what you changed and/or added to make it special
Ride - Now that you have a bigger understanding of how to game works, you can look back and make the ride more enjoyable and fun
Each of these categories will be scored out of 10, with a total score of 30.


The prize for this bonus contest will be $25 USD, and maybe hopefully potentially a lil medal?

this is very very cool. ngl imma do this one. My biggest problem is my lack of good tracks, at all. Meaning, I don't have many even large enough to remix, and the ones that are aren't made by just me . Nevertheless I think I will remix https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/922979-elemenopee-frwc-6-ntbf or https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/865799-wired-ft-waddleshoes . The latter was a collab, meaning I couldn't be entered in the contest (officially) but then again, this is just a bonus round. We'll see.
