My parents (should I say my step-mother who is more of a mother to me) likes to bring up they didn't have to go to court to make it so I live with them, they like to bring up that my real mother is a deadbeat, they like to bring up my childhood.

Again I am glad that this is here, but anyone can get on here and say some pretty harmful things that could lead to bad decisions. What I’m trying to say is that be careful who you open up to, and you don’t know anyone here.

 

Eh, they try to shame me, or atleast it feels like it. They compare me to my sister and how talented they are. They have taken almost everything of mine away and say that I did it to myself, when I try to get my grades up -

It sounds to me less like abuse and more like you are just in an extremely frustrating situation. Don’t get me wrong, I sympathize to what you are going through, but I don’t think they are actively being bad parents. They are trying to create an incentive for you to be your best and honestly them trying to monitor what you are doing, while it might be helicopter parenting isn’t wrong. I am in much the same situation and there are times that I HATE it. It is almost eternally frustrating to me and makes me miserable, but mayb try to see the other persons persoective

lots of things that are "normal" in today's societies are done simply because the older generation used to do it. and i dont see enough questions being asked for the sake of finding out the truth.
we should all ask questions and look for answers. have an open mind and truthfully seek answers. dont blindly follow society.

 

I really like this. I also think a lot of things are viewed as progress just because they are changes. And I think people don’t care to know other people’s reasons for their views and forego civil conversations that could be centered around a pursuit for the truth or that could at least result in more understanding, of one another or even of the issue at hand. And when people can be reduced to just their views, a healthy society isn’t likely and pure “tribalism” is.

I don’t think my words necessarily hold much weight nor do I seek to be perceived of as smart, but I really enjoy language and expression.

 

Finally understand what this means.
Don’t man. Do not.
It’s not worth it and you’ll regret it later. You’ll hurt not only yourself but the people who care about you such as myself.
People have attempted it and not succeeded. One thing in common with so many of them is the regret they felt before committing.
Trust me, there are better ways to go about this.
