make it more random and have branches going towards you (in front of the trunk) if you're going for realism maybe make the trunk a little thicker so you can do bark detail looks good overall though
I'm not the best detail guy here, but maybe make the trunk a little thicker because to me it just looks like two straight lines going up.
looks 2d cuz of layout of the branches. make some look like they're coming out at you from the front of the trunk and going away from you from the back/add perspective to it
on a tree, the branches dont only exist on two sides, they come from all directions draw braches and leaves coming from all sides of the tree to add dimension and draw bigger so its easier to do
