If you don't have your own style, you're worthless. Before someone calls me a bully, let me explain. This game, much like real art mediums, is driven by innovators. If you devote yourself to learning from artists greater than yourself, you will develop a style. Instead, if you devote yourself to emulating greater artists, you will not develop style, you will not innovate, and you are therefore worthless. Do not walk in the footsteps of giants... Stand on their shoulders, and you will achieve glory.
Okay first off Ishu what you did was copying, it looks like it could be in one of Crypt 's tracks the only problem is its not as good as his. This is what happens when you copy you will never be as good as the original. The worst thing you did was denying looking at his work because its obvious you did. Dont lie its ridiculous. Second off the all black detail is another form of proof, only crypt does that. The rock is exactly the same as Damion's rocks so yet again stop trying to deny you copied him. Lastly look at the bark, thats not what the bark in your reference picture looked like so it yet again proves that you copied his trees. In fact I think the only thing you used from your reference picture is outlines. So you copied stop trying to make excuses and lying about it.
Just looked at some of your old tracks-Grassy Knoll. The tree outlines and bark detail look pretty damn similar to those of south and thecrypt. I'm not sure why you're so intent on calling me a copier; it's actually starting to get mean from you. Tbh, I don't care if you think I'm a copier (I'm not); you're perception won't change and you just keep arguing. I'll change the bark style a bit, but I'm pretty sure you'll still hate.
Y'all need to stop arguing and just make some great tracks, there's not really a direction in this argument so it's pretty much just adding fuel to the fire
I know there are different types of realism, but isn't "picture perfect results" pretty usual goal when drawing nature stuff? And I'm not even saying your style of drawing necessarily matches to that tree the best - I'm just saying I find it easy to imagine that he could have used that style by accident.
Nah. Like I said before, you can draw realism in a variety of styles. I don't feel like reiterating my last argument, feel free to re-read it. I think the reason people, including myself, are so eager to compare his with mine is because of multiple similarities, not just one or even two. The first one, the vertical shadows on the ground, which many people use but are particularly prevalent in my tracks. Secondly, my grass style; sporadic, typically short and heavily used black lines. Thirdly, my tree branch and trunk shading, which is quite heavy and focuses on covering the entire tree vs simply shadowing one side and implying the other. Fourthly, the leaves, which I do as small lines similar to the grass rather than drawing small ovals, circles or even curves like others do. I'm not accusing him of copying but the similarities are certainly suspicious and anyone who brought it up...well, it's justified.
Not even gonna post more wips for rotate, you'll all see it in a week. If you want progress pics follow me on Instagram or add me on Snapchat: Dotmaybes
