Here is a pic of my extremely minimalistic track.

 

What? Lol. I'm not lazy, I'm just not a 15 year old that comes home from school and has time to draw on my computer for hours.

Eventually, some young talented artist with enough patience and passion for it will start it up again.

Back on topic again, here's my super ultra mega realistic WIP for round 3

 

I don't think I can take the realism

 

You're right it definitely does help in some areas, I'm probably going to completely finish the grey shading first though.

My only problem with the track is that the track seems mostly detached from the detail, i think you could probably make it merge together better, unless that's what your going for.

 

All the track will be drawn on north shore style ramps when I'm done

what is WIP?

 

I would love to be able to detail heavily. Problem is I am not good enough to make it look realistic

Realistic detail, and the game as we used to know it from the older days is dead. Since all the people who make up new, creative and realistic ways to detail, are inactive on the trackmaking front, there's no one left for the sheep to continue to immitate. realistic trackmakers are mainly driven by the competition to be the best of the best, but with nobody left, there's no one to compete with if one were to consider a comeback.
Also you don't really find very young good drawers. The only exception I know is lolz, who dominated the scene and set the standards already as a 15 year old.
Plus people want to race more than they want to create these days, due to a higher emphasis on the racing aspect that came with frhd. One cant expect to become a better trackmaker by spending most of one's game time racing tbh. And racing is just a competition between cheaters anyway, who like to watch their own ghosts and actually believe they are that good, when in reality they don't really master the game better than anyone else. Naturally their egos wont allow them to admit to that.

anyway with the app coming out, the emphasis on itz_chuck type of tracks will become so severe, we will most likely eventually see a further decrease in track detail quality.
i dont really care that much tho, the game is going through a generation change i guess

 

no it isn't lmao There are two types of people on frhd track makers or racers.

You can do both but will only dominate in one of the fields

 

I am trying to combine both, we'll see if it's possible.

 

I am working on a collab at the moment. I might post a small screenshot if the person I am working with agrees on it.
