Our very first campaign contest!

I think I'm just going to attempt as many of these as I can with the time that I have, which is not much

 

Alright I keep that on for the rest of the day but I'll be AFK a lot. If anyone wants to join and talk about this campaign, please do !

 

That's the idea of a contest . I think it's best to choose a track that no one works on though. Else everyone works on the same track and the other tracks will be bad.

 

That is the idea, we want to work with you guys to make the best new player experience possible but at the same time have as much diversity as possible after all that is what Free Rider is about.

If you have the time and you want to take a crack at them all go for it, but if you have limited time try tackling one of the ones that there haven't really been any comments on. And if you are are planning on going after one best to put that intention in the comments.

 

Yesterday was a day off for all us canadians, so we will be posting the last 3 tracks today as well as putting some dates on when to submit. How does June 2nd sound? That would give us a chance to get tracks submitted, mark them as beginner to collect play stats and then add them into the first campaign.

We will begin coding the backend of campaigns this week as Char has already knocked out a lot of the front end stuff.

 

I personally would prefer a couple of days later, like june 5th or something. I don't really have time to do much drawing untill june 2nd so that'd be better for me, but if the 2nd works better for you then that'd be alright.

 

We can definitely push it out a bit, we are just eager to get the first campaign out as it is the last major feature before we can take the game out of beta and start marketing it a bit more.

We do have some other features we can work on so the date is flexible, especially if it is going to give more authors a chance to participate.

 

Yeah I understand that you guys want to put out the campaign as fast as possible. People are wondering when it comes out, but just three days or so would do wonders for me personally. If that's not a problem than that would be great

 

All track requirements have been added. If you have any questions let us know.

We have set a end date of June 6th.

What I am thinking is that Track Name / Description for the most part can be left to the Track Author but we would like input/sign-off on them as they will be the first experience for a new player.

Please submit WIPs to the track thread that you are working on so that we as well as other authors can have input.

Just updated original post with a "rewards" section.

 

With 12 days left in the contest. Will be "bumping" some of the track requirement threads to see if we have any authors working on / considering tackling the track. If you don't plan on entering any tracks please let us know here so we won't bother you

We are very confident that these tracks will be the most played Free Rider tracks of all time, so if you enjoy having your tracks played by millions and rated by thousands this is a pretty good opportunity.
