Cork I think you have a solid chance at taking that back. You were ahead and started higher up on the climb at the end. It was just the the speed of the climb that killed the run.

One thing I started unconsciously doing recently is correcting mistakes before they turn fatal. After playing for some time, you get a feel for where the bike is headed and sometimes you just reset or checkpoint to save yourself the time of watching the crash. Well some scenarios are perfectly savable and sometimes should be saved because it is more time-efficient than a checkpoint.

Put some effort into kicking the habit of rushing to "r" or "enter" in anticipation of a crash to observe whether or not those scenarios are savable. Doing this for some time will build your mental library of savable scenarios that will help you prevent having to reset or go back a checkpoint. Of course you still might crash anyway, but take time to practice saving yourself in those scenarios and eventually saving the run will be more efficient than a checkpoint or reset.
