New Editor Release and Bug Report

Yeah, it didnt work the 1st time i tried to import but it worked the second time and since then its been fine. Maybe just a fluke or somethin
Edit; Char i tried importing using the file but that didnt work, is that meant to be working?

 

it probs was the NSA stealing the track to see if there was anything that said anything bad bout them. or illuminati, idc

 

Yes, it should work. What browser are you using? Also, where did you get the file?

 

How do u restart? Old editor-R

 

a few more things I've ran into:

clicking the zoom in/out buttons and other top/bottom menu options selects the screen (turning it blue as if it was highlighted)

when I use Opera, the game treats 97% as the default zoom. I can't scroll back to 100%, I press the 0 key and it goes to 97%. I also noticed Chrome goes by intervals of 25% for the most part but Opera is all over the place

collecting a star makes it vanish (idk if that's intentional, but thought I'd point it out in any case)

and that's literally everything this editor is a work of art, surprisingly few bugs and it works like a charm. I'm in love with this editor. I'm still adjusting to the new hotkeys and general feel of it, but you've surpassed the CR editor in my eyes and I honestly couldn't be happier. once that grid background is optional (it's like doodlin' on a graph paper instead of a blank sheet, I just can't do it lol), I'm official switching over.

I just want to thank you so so so so much for listening to the community and improving on your project. I can't speak for every CR member but I was afraid that losing the editor over there was the end of the game. there were major steps taken forward and then to seemingly revert back to an outdated game just for copyright reasons just killed me inside, but you've taken a huge leap forward and from the looks of it, you're gonna continue improving and advancing the game to new heights. I really appreciate your work here. not only the dev work but all of the forum/DB/website/networking/community work that the whole staff has put in, thank you all for everything. and I hope the future is even brighter than the fantastically glowing present we have now.

 

Im using Google Chrome and the file was a Word document.

 

if I use this to draw a track, will it cause problems in terms of having the jumps line up, boosts too powerful, etc when I upload it?

Ah yeah. I haven't implemented the "game logic" yet. This is very preview. Hence why checkpoints do not work yet.

 

Thanks for the support Ness and everyone who has been providing feedback. I do want to make this editor the best it can be, and allow you guys to make art. . I will take a look at those bugs, and update the list. I'll make the visual grid optional soon, simple fix. This has made me want to start creating maps too, so I can understand the pros and cons, and hopefully notice any improvements that can be made.

This is why. A word document can not be used. It must be a plain txt document. The problem is that word documents contain a lot of extra formatting text. Open up notepad or textedit (mac), instead.

 

plus word documents are hefty files and txt documents are just the way to go

 

Btw could you make it so u are able to start from checkpoints in the editor for mobile?

Mmm, ya I am thinking of doing that. Allowing editors to move the rider so they can test sections of their track.

 

Also to test a track with checkpoints I have to ride through the whole thing perfectly

 

Thats just because I haven't implemented checkpoints yet.
