the main reason i wanted to post here is to ask if anyone else uses 144hz like me (right now i had to switch to 75hz tho) and if they find it smoother. people say frhd is 30fps (or 60fps and 30 fps controls side) but still i found 144hz to be way smoother, i believe it to be when pressing the spacebar maybe? anyone?

 

currently working on mounting a tv in my room and just got a 5 foot shelf thing, cant wait until its done and i will share a pic.

 

I see this bumped, so I might as well update my setup, which is now miles better than what I had - Intel Pentium? I really thought that was good???

Spoiler: My Setup

PC has the following:

• AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• B450 Tomahawk MAX Motherboard
• 16GB DDR4-3600 RAM (i could probably do with upgrading this to 32GB, but the speed is fine)
• GTX 1660 Ti, 6GB VRAM (budget, might upgrade to an RTX 2000 series card if the RTX 3000 series cards release soon and put the 2000 series cards on sale)
• 250GB SSD (booting OS is speeeeeed) and 1TB HDD
• Elgato HD60 Internal Capture Card (i record footage from my Switch)

and I have a 144hz monitor, so i can explain this; any game that is programmed to tick with FPS will be locked to a particular framerate. You'll see this in a lot of console ports, where they've tried to mitigate this by unlocking the FPS but the code will always run twice as fast. on the contrary you have games programmed to tick with DeltaTime (dt), which executes code according to an arbitrary time difference. this allows games to run on higher refresh rate monitors.

given that FRHD's timer doesn't seem to increment properly (it increases by 3 each time), and 100/30 = 3.3333 approx, i'd suspect it's locked to 30 fps.

I have a mid Windows 10 PC, because i don't really play games with insane graphics (i prefer playability over graphics), and i only play games for fun, because i touch more grass than most of yall.

Don't remember all specs, but i'll just list the main ones

I sometimes play frhd at phone, my phone is just an old samsung galaxy note 8 (used to be a great flagship, currently kinda outdated)

I don't play games that has insane graphics (the only game i play that needs a gpu with 2gb+ ram is forza motorsport 6: apex), for me the most important is the playability (good ammount of features like minecraft, not being p2w, etc)
