      Yeah it's understandable dude, haha. Costuming in general is strange because you're creating a false identity, so it's no sweat. Not everyone's cup of tea.
      There's definitely more art in this fandom than fursuits though, but the costumes are what the public / media seems to focus on. The furry fandom is actually unique in that we're not all fans of one thing, like a specific tv show or series; we create the content we are fans of ourselves, so not everyone is in it for the same reason. It's even harder to explain than it would be to explsin a fandom like Star Wars, because it's not as simple as saying "we are all fans of this one thing."
