I'm putting up a $50 (or more) bounty for the removal of ghosts + other stuff

guess no community classic tracks get any ghosts huh? cus no one is around to pick what ones to display? unless the moderators do it. but that would be more time-consuming wouldn't it? anyone who even has more than a few dozen fairly popular tracks would have to just pick the first few ghosts to show after a few days and then leave it at that. it's unrealistic to expect authors to keep up with the ghosts people make on their tracks, especially after they leave. then just screw everyone else playing those tracks I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have no issue with that idea (would love to see more trickghosts!) but people will still hack and shoot to the top of the leaderboard in points. just add even basic anticheat and fix the CURRENT problem rather than ignore it. with a team of 3-4 people and mass deletion of all a users ghosts (has been done before!) then you can take care of 99% of the problem in a week, which is MUCH shorter than it will take to implement that system. i've already done a decent amount of work to compile this thread of repeat offenders, now you do your part. I don't see how you can think that this isn't in Kano's interest when this is undoubtedly their biggest source of revenue and it's causing long time players (many of whom have directly supported the game financially) to become frustrated and move on and cause new players to see the state of disrepair and leave before they start.

 

Also, people with highly popular tracks get thousands of completions for every track they make. It would be extremely time-consuming to look through all of them and decide which ones should be displayed.
Edit: Adding on to NotVeryGood's post from above, retired players too. No one will choose their ghosts for them.

 

It's very much in kano's interest if new players quit early because of hacked times that seem to never be dealt with. Keeping a large playerbase = more revenue. Also ghosters tend to see the most ads while exploring the database, rather than trackmakers who spend more time in the editor.

 

yes, there are many ways Char can go about to reduce the problem step-by-step like anticheat/bot detection, banning an account actually removes their ghosts, author approval, or just more (active) mods, but what would be the likelihood of him taking action in a near period of time? let's say even a month (although it already has been way over a month since this has started). he hasn't been online for a week neither on forums nor the game but i'm at least sure he is still doing something behind the scenes for this game occasionally. i'm also hoping he's still working on FRCE which would be a great deal to all players

e: the game has been mainly community-driven for quite a while now this year from mods and hacky code to verify hacked/cheated ghosts. surely a part of the community can also take part in this
