    don't go out and buy a $700 tablet if you've never used one before, or animated anything before. Animation is tough, it takes a certain type of person to enjoy it, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying an $80 tablet to test the waters. I have drawing tablets, and they all function very similarly, you don't need the fancy bells and whistles of a $700 tablet with a monitor. Buy a cheap tablet, get used to the flow of animation, and if you end up liking it you should get some nicer gear. You don't want to end up with an expensive piece of gear that you never use.
