Round 1 Results and Commentary
Hi everyone! After 2 days, Round 1 of GBC5 has come to a close!
The first track of the contest was made by Egona, and I couldn't think of a better track to get things going. With the right amount of difficulty and smoothness through flow, this track was easy to finish, but with plenty of variety and areas to shave time.

Round 1 Times and Current Rankings
Cerasium got off to a hot start as he often does, getting a 25.xx ghost early on.
Anonyymi,
Xenom,
Uniior and
Stevie.T, all veteran ghosters, secured their places in the top 10 from day 1.
Cerasium would fend off all challengers and lock in 1st place with a great 24.33-second ghost.
Eunos, a dark horse when it comes to ghosting, always turns up for a ghosting contest and delivers in great fashion, improving from a 30-second ghost to 28, then setting his final ghost of 26.43 for 7th place.
FunBunOne made a comeback to join the contest. A great ghoster in the early FRHD days, FBO exceeded expectations to finish 9th.
Players like

The_risen_skyrider,
Clash06 and
EGRIFFITH had solid times to place well, ghosters who are improving fast and rising the ranks.
TPlacella led the way for the non-spacebarers, securing 14th with a 29.87-second ghost in the later parts of the round (I wish I could have ghosted more lol).
VictorEnummanuel rounded out the top 15, earning 2 points.
It was great to see active and well-known players such as
Cryx,
Phasetree panda_rider,
Protvod and
HtH_RIDES cash in on the 1 point whilst placing in the 20.
Ponjoja,
pawflix,
JustAGDFan,
Zonkalization and
nhdtop brought up the rear of the field, with
VA17Gaming being the big outsider with an almost 3-minute ghost, with everyone else under a minute.

Totoca12 abd
ST4RSWillShine failed to ghost the track in time. We hope you guys can participate in Round 2 and beyond. You five earned 0 points, but there are still 9 more rounds to catch up and earn more points!

TPlacella Award for Round 1
The TPlacella Award will be the main shoutout in the round, recognising amazing performances and unexpected outcomes.
The most impressive performance for the round had to be from isekeb. A great ghoster who has held featured ghosts in the past, we knew what isekeb was capable of. Despite being rusty, he got a 26.xx ghost on day 1. However, we weren't expecting what was coming next. He went on to improve his ghost a couple of times, beating ghosters of a larger calibre than him to secure 2nd place with a time of 24.83, an amazing effort!
Final thoughts
What a great way to get the contest rolling! With a large majority of you on the board already, there are high hopes for Round 2, which will be released by
pawflix in just under 24 hours (Feb 5th @1am GMT).
