Ghost liking and featuring

I am fairly sure that I speak not only for myself, but also Char and kano; when I say that this will and should not happen as we do not wish to promote manipulated/enhanced ghosts. Promotion of such would in the worst case injure the ghosting experience for people who do not use the same methods as yourselves. It is neither a wish that the standard way of riding this game becomes the abuse of the pause function/fps hacks.

If there were any way to stop spacebarring/fps hack, this suggestion could be considered. It's not neccessarily a bad suggestion, if it weren't for this unfortunate problem we're having with what we consider as cheaters.

 

still, nobody ever fps hacked and if spacebarring was cheating, something would have been made already?

and for real, if the community didnt want this, the vote would NOT be 25-0 to yes.

 

That's not true some people do hack example this one guy idk but something like mrpoliski he hacked but they are banned quickly. Also I'm betting that it's takes work to hack, one just doesn't know how to hack so it's very unlikely. Also idk if they even can block it that's why they don't do somehing like this because it's unstoppable I think.

 

if i were to be made a ghost featurer, i would NOT feature clearly hacked ghosts. (i mean if the guy joined yesterday and all of a suddent he makes the best ghost in the universe)
that would be stupid and it would take the joy away from everybody else.

The community isn't representative in this case, because most likely any community member is aware of, and is abusing the spacebar function to different degrees. Unlike themajority of our members on the DB.

To claim that no one ever used FPS hack is a weak claim with no roots, as we have intel on people who have went beyond spacebarring. Very quick reaction times is also an indicator as there is still a human limit to how fast you can continously pause/unpause while remaining focused on your ride. There are alot of liars regarding the matter of spacebarring and fps hacks. Some claim to not even spacebar, some claim to just spacebar, but do actually manipulate the FPS in a more precise way.

As I said though, the suggestion will most likely be considered, if we ever figure out a way to stop cheating.

 

Can we at least have a ghosting forum in the meantime?

A ghosting forum wouldn't neccessarily be out of the question, since most forum members are aware of the methods people use to make better ghosts. I will address this with Char.

But, promoting it on the database however, anymore than the top 10 lists, is less likely to happen.

 

Stig nobody is gonna be promoting spacebarring to anyone, the person who made spacebarring this big of a deal was you
you were the person who started all this 'spacebar is cheating' stuff, you were the one who gave spacebar the attention it never needed
as I said, spacebarring was a thing even back in the old cr times, but not a single person cared that much
spacebarring wouldn't even be a topic without you

I know you have probably given Char all your non-existant knowledge of spacebarring and ghosting in general, but believe me devs, stig doesn't know how this all works
the people who actually do use spacebar can enlighten you more about what spacebarring is
no one should listen to someone who doesn't have any experience/knowledge about the topic, especially if you don't even listen to the expert

devs, I know you trust stig since he's a mod and all, but please don't hear only his opinion about a topic that he doesn't know anything about
spacebarring has been discussed on countless topics (prob around 7), with you bringing it up every time either me or fin makes a post, and constantly avoiding our points like a jamaican dodging bullets

Please keep relevant to the subject Backtwice , I hardly doubt a personal attack is gonna be perceived anything remotely like pursuasive.
You are free to make another attempt at making a valid argument, but if I see another irrelevant and personal post like this I'm going to assume there is nothing more of value to be added to this discussion.
