either way the election went, it would have been more of the same imo. trump has been making a lot of executive orders but those will probably slow down soon, and past that i don't see how he's going to get through to the teaching unions to make change happen with common core.

i'm not a trump supporter, and i don't think i ever will be (although my entire family is). but i also think it will not be as bad as the people already giving up on him. i guess what you could say i am is hopeful that something good can come out of this. the change might piss people right off, sure, but that happens with like every president ever so whatever right

also while writing this blurb of text i found out that he signed an order so taxpayers aren't paying for abortions anymore. idk what side you're on but it's kinda stupid for the government paying for people to get rid of fetuses.

 

i don't think that they would have been "more of the same" unless your definition of "the same" is so broad it encompasses basically all american politics for the past 50-75 years, in which case being more of the same isnt even necessarily that bad
even if neither of them would have had the potential to pass any legislation, they would still get supreme court noms that will decide the politics of the court for a long time, which would be a pretty significant difference

me too man, i don't think there's anyone that wants stuff to get worse for everyone under trump's presidency. that doesn't mean people can't oppose him and don't have legitimate reasons for doing so

So we're doing a mock congress in my high school government class, and the first bill that came up for floor debate was about revising the currently 74,000 page income tax code and removing the graduating income tax to create a standard, flatline 15.7% income tax which is the current average for all taxpayers. This kid in the back went hardcore socialist about it, talking about helping the poor and making the economy more even. Half the class was laughing about how triggered he was XD. The next bill that came up was about banning the sale and use of neonicotinoid pesticides cause the kill pollinators, mainly bees, and all the memers in the room started thinking bee movie. This mock congress is so cancer
