Feature this

Does any one know how http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/9292-alice got featured? It doesn't seem like anything special.

This thread... The problem here is everyone is expecting all the feat. tracks to satisfy each of their own expectations, whatever that may be. In the end no one will be truly satisfied.

 

It's actually not.
The only tracks I consider in my favourites list is surburban flood, vinetageous and aquaroute.

 

Ok guys I'm sorry for bringing this back up, but compare Dreamt Place to Terminal. Imo DP is 100x better than terminal. Terminal got featured because of its originality, but DP has the same/more originality than Terminal plus really cool art. Props to WyattStonhouse . I think that the featured staff has to creat some more substantial guidelines for featured tracks because it almost seems like you guys are being inconsistent.

 

Well, I was the one who featured terminal.

At the time (and now) , I felt that the guidelines were too strict. Featured should be tracks that are much better than the average. She has put out solid fun tracks from the beginning, so I felt she deserved it. We wont dive into this again, because everyone has explained themselves.

We have guidelines. If you would read the threads you wouldn't of posted that.

Also IMO as a grid artist / spriter I do enjoy Terminal more overall.

 

Everyone here is arguing about where the bar is. Too high, too low...
Did anyone think of think of setting multiple bars? Different levels of awesomeness?
Jump the the taller bar, create something outstandingly creative and unmatchable, and you can get a feature. Only the best of the best should get this. Tracks like these will be imprinted in history.
Char , however, was concerned for the upcoming authors, authors still developing there skills. That's where the lower bar should be used, for tracks that aren't quite as legendary as a Feature, but are well-worth an honorable mention. My conclusion, aside from the untouchable featured tracks section, all of the really good tracks that didn't quite make the bar, I think, deserve their own section. Filled with tons of worth-the-play tracks.

 

I mean, how is this any different than the Official Author / Elite Author issue?
