Drawing Thread

It doesn't not look like a birch, but since your tree is so small it's hard draw textures that are recognizable as birch. Also (and SO many people make this mistake) but your river is on top of a mound, how did it get up there. Hmm did it flow up the other side?

 

I used reference pics, but uh...The river is magic..

 

tbh i don't care if my detail makes sense i just draw whatever i think looks cool

The rocks need lines defining them. Right now they only look like spheres with shadows.

yeah i tried, but i feel like they look good blank..but maybe that's just me. Anyone else got some insight?

 

genericusername first off, the grass needs more care and time put into it. Secondly, if you are not heavily detailing your rocks, then you shouldn't have black in them except for the outline. Lastly the little bark things on your tree are upside down lol. Look at mine as a reference

is this better? Also, should i put black in some of bark as well? I was wondering bc my tree isn't really as detailed so im not sure.

 

I like it just the way it is.
Define your own style, instead of constantly changing your detail because it doesn't fit in with someone elses style.
If you think it looks good, keep it.

 

Thanks I'm think im keeping the rocks like that, but i still may experiment.
