Alright guys I need help, I'm trying to draw a perfectly reflective pool of water in a track I've been working on. Anyone know how I could make it look more reflective?

Something I like to do is draw a couple of plants leaning over the pool and then drawing the reflections of them, that will show you a bit more that the water you drew is reflective. Also, Do those straight lines make the pool look better? The ones you drew? You should take a look at it with and without those lines

There will definitely be more plants around, I didn't really think much about them having reflections but that might help. Iv'e tried it without those lines and it definitely looks more reflective with them, it also makes it more recognizable in your peripheral vision that it's water. Hopefully the pool will look better when the ground around it is full of plants and stuff idk.

Yeah another way to make your pool look like a pool is by making everything around the pool really detailed with a lot of black lines and then have the pool be pretty much just no lines at all, apart from some reflections.

translating that to monochromatic lines isn't real wise imo. My advice is to keep it simple, maybe put some more complex stuff around the edges, but keep the majority of the water open and clear. And like everyone else said, keep the reflections all scenery.

Tablet as in iPad or tablet as in a usb attachment that you plug into a computer and you draw like you are drawing with a pencil?

Either way it looks pretty dang good.

My second attempt, I'm going to need lots of practice, but I feel like this is gonna be a great tool.

I didn't realize how easy it is to draw on a wacom in the editor.

yeah, it's surprisingly easy, using brush anyway. One of the only problems for me is I'm used to having my hand in front of me on the track pad, but now it's to my side and that's just a complete different feel. Different angles and such.

I think i'm starting to get the hang of this tablet, what do you guys think, compared things I've drawn in the past?

For the tree to the left, I hit one of those "blank zones" where you can't see what you are doing until you zoom out so if part of it looks odd, that's probably why.

Hey I was working on a trackpad until now, so my hand has no experience actually moving, neither do any of my fingers, so it's pretty tough on all of us

Plus i'm finding it nearly impossible to do exact detailing or actually making the track, so other than quick chaotic detail you're not missing out on much.

Understandable, I started out with trackpad, then bought myself a mouse(wayyy better)... but now you guys got these pads. Feeling pretty jealous right now seeing you guys pop out these trees cuz I spent so much time on one tree. How much did those doodle pads cost you guys?
