any ideas on how to draw a fence from birds eye view? kinda struggling with it

 

I would recommend finding a point of view. If the fence is worn down and your view is truly up and down, then I would draw circles with those v's on top of the chain link, buat add parts where its not perfect like it's folded down so ou can detail it that way so you can tell it's a fence

Any Ideas for improvement before I fill my track with kelp?

 

not really for improvement, but try to remember what kingdom kelp is from. What I mean from that is kelp isn't a plant, it's a protozoan. It doesn't just grow anywhere, the kelp anchors itself on rocks and stuff. So don't just draw the kelp on the ground, make debris for it to anchor on to. I noticed that you have a rock already that the kelp is on, but I'm not sure if that was just something you did or it was intentionally because of kelp's anatomy.

 

also this is the detail I decided on! It is more condensed on smaller spots and slowly spirals outwards on the big rocks.

 

well not really kelp just a sea plant, but thanks for the info ill have to remember that!
