thanks. Im not sure what it would be (probably not like one specific place but over a region, and maybe do some towers and stuff. I think Id probably do a shrine with plenty of gaurdians.

 

I think my main problem is my detailing. I can do good detail but not consistently. thats my problem.

 

dont know how to make the top of this tree fit in with the bottom
(everywhere above where the dark lines end is where the rider has to go through so it cant be black)

 

I would recommend more leaves and doing a layered leaf style (ill show you what I mean in a sec)

oh you mean like adding extra circular patches of leaves on top of the preexisting ones to give it a sense of depth and roundness

 

ye and adding some to the background of the tree (that are wider) and dont make them perfectly circular. A little bit of hatching can go a long way and it can help if you can identify this in irl circumstances. The patches do not have to be complete (like it can be lines as well) and I would recommend adding a branch stick out of it. Spruce is a good person to look at (specifically garden gypsies) when doing this type of detail. Maybe make the trunk visible in a couple of places and make the leaves go down below the trunk, but behind it maybe

i was originally going for comic/cartoonish horror but i cant find any references i like + i feel like it wouldnt fit
any suggestions
