Ok I'm new to this thread and I'd rather not read 128 pages to catch up on all the detailing tips, I just want to know how to detail caves, my detail is to simple, I need something that's more complex and looks better and more realistic
if u want really intense detail you can base it off of https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/279722-bolaside-ii or something similar
Suggestion coming from me is to take a look at my remix entry. It takes a lot of time but it turns out real nice. Mine can get pretty sloppy if I don't take my time. The key is to do a heavier foreground and a lighter background so you have balance, but can detail both. https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/392575-nullam-rc5r2-unfinished
Actually looks great except one thing. Your detail is very round, which is great, it looks semi-natural, yet very abnormal which gives it a cool vibe. However, your physics lines are more of a jagged straight line. It creates an awkward barrier between the two. The easiest way to describe it is like using past and present tense in the same sentence like "I am going to the store to bought tomatoes"
yeah, i agree, i was hoping that the rounded detail might look good with it, but i'll just change the track a bit so it matches the detail. thanks for the feedback
only problem is that it looks like a complete rip-off of the track that you copied off of. continue to practice using that detail, however, branch off and make your own cave detail. you wont get anywhere copying stuff other people have done
yeah, i tried to branch off, but it will look different and unique as the time goes on, like you said. It was mostly just an experiment and i doubt i'll publish it
I'm good at detailing, but I get pissed cause it doesn't look to cool. From there, I either take it here for approval, or scrap it like 99% of the time.
hey, can anyone help me with tips on detailing a waterfall? im having a little trouble, anything would be appreciated.
