Religion is often used to mask the reasons of racism and resources, which we wage wars over. If you think that there wouldn't be wars if everyone was an atheist, then you're an imbecile.

 

Im not saying there wouldn't be wars, just less. Imagine if in the year 2000 we all said no more religion. 9/11 wouldn't have happened because the people behind it did it for their warped view of religion. If there was no religion, there would be almost total peace in the Middle East. However, that wouldn't end all wars. Just enough to make the world a better place. plenty of racism stems from people's religious beliefs and their need to justify their hatred with some kind of other-worldly force, this is not to mention the numerous wars that have spawned as a result of religious conflicts. It would also be foolish to assume that religion carries no guilt in this respect.

 

In this example they already have hatred, which they justify with religion; so the hatred doesn't stem from their religious beliefs - 'justify their hatred with some kind of other-worldly force'. Ultimately, I believe that wars waged on behalf of religion were, in reality, waged because of hatred, ignorance or avarice. For example, assuming the Marxist view of religion - that it was made up in order to prevent the proletariat population from revolting or complaining, by the promise of an afterlife, then it would make it impossible for the core foundations of each religion to harbour unnecessary resentment against a group of people, as it wouldn't be required (religion is a way to live, and each one is usually filled with the same stuff - be kind etc). Religion can't bear on the back the hatred of people that follow it. Moreover, I would even argue (once again from a Marxist perspective) that, if religion does clearly outlaw a group of people (homosexuals for example), then it's creators were simply playing in to the belief of the majority of the population, who harboured this ill-will in the first place.

 

U haven't disproven religion at all, just that it starts wars, which is a fact, therefore, u have not proven anything. Also the only war from religion is extreme muslims. U could get rid of extremists and there would be no war

I really don't care about the majority of religious conflict anymore. I've taken a step back and I simply listen to both sides at this point & come to my own conclusions based on various outlooks. I'm not interested in proving Christianity or fighting atheism. I feel that Islam is the world's biggest threat at the moment and nobody seems to be doing anything about it, which is why I've focused my energy on fighting that religion specifically.

All religion did is hold us back from **** like science (literal executions for people who dared to say the earth is round, or anything that even slightly contradicted the worldview Christianity represented). What made civilization possible is agriculture because we didn't need to hunt (at least as much) anymore and could stay in one location.

You haven't really told me anything but lies. And on top of that, you seem to get angry when I don't take your word for everything you've been caught lying about before.
And every time I ask for a little bit of evidence you come up with some bullshit reason why you can't provide any, pathetic!

And if you disagree, don't just say you do, explain why. You easily lose an argument if all you do is say "No I'm not" instead of explaining things.
