Also I don't really understand why you're so against a small gesture of kindness to be honest. The way I see it:
Pros of treating someone as their preferred gender

• It makes them feel accepted and normal (especially important when transsexualism is so heavily stigmatized and gender dysphoria is known to be really awful)
• It's a generally nice thing to do

Cons of treating someone as their preferred gender

• You have to remember to do it
• It could potentially make you feel slightly uncomfortable

What is there to gain through "honesty" (which is really debatable w/r/t sex and gender being separate things) when it's such an incredibly small thing that can have such a big positive impact?

 

Bruce was born a man, was a man, and is a man in my opinion. He can prefer whatever gender he wants, just as I'd prefer to be rich but I'm not. Like I said, I'm not going to lie to make someone happy because that's worse than just telling the truth to me, I'm an honest person and I value that trait.
Also, I couldn't care less what people who edit wikipedia articles say.
I respect your opinion and people who feel the way you do, I understand you believe in what you feel is right and I would hope everyone can tell I'm just believing in what I feel is right as well.

 

I respect your beliefs as well. My intention was definitely not to say that my beliefs are more valid than yours, I just wanted to share an opposing viewpoint. I've been a little frustrated towards the views on transsexual people that I've seen on social media and other outlets lately so I apologize if that was a little too apparent here haha.

I feel the same as you, just in a different situation. I get so tired of hearing about this topic and others like it every day, it frustrates me and that's why I did my mini rant earlier in this thread. I haven't seen many views opposing yours though, to be honest.
