Originally, it was to divert the constant spam that people post on the mods' profile pages, that way RAPPERJACK could ask the mods to give OA out to players without the players themselves posting multiple messages on the mods' profiles.
I proposed a different system that I feel would be more efficient, as well as easier to handle. What I suggested was to have players submitting their OA applications to a couple of trusted and worthy members, and instead of the staff making the decision to give OA or not, we could have the group of active and well-known members decide on whether players should receive OA, and ask the staff to give those players OA.

Admins can handle it on their own, they don’t need any help

 

The admins have given up answering people about OA. Stig has stopped giving it altogether. Max007x almost never responds to profile posts. Char hasn't been online for months, mR..A is pretty much leaving, and Eric hasn't said anything for more than a year. I don't see how they're handling it well.

 

Admins barely talk nowadays.

Well they would be smart to care, since ignoring people's requests for OA is damaging to the community. If players have reached their account track limit and they aren't allowed OA to make more tracks, the players would just leave, because they can't make tracks anymore, which kills the game even more.

Yeah I only included the ones that can give out OA. I'll bet Eryp and Totoca12 will help if they had the powers, but like I said earlier, Char hasn't gotten online for a while, so those options are on hold for now.
