to me, drugs messes ur brain up, for the good or for the worse. although i personally believe that drugs are ultimately bad for you, I support the idea that it should be legal but only with permission of doctor or trained professional. One goal I believe that humanity should solve is to try to find a way to replicate the benefits of drugs without negative side effects

i don't have the energy to fully rehash this dumb argument but suffice to say i find people who feel the need to assert "heh, there's only 2 genders >: )" incredibly obnoxious

 

there have been 2 genders since man was there and there shall always be. The others are malfunctions

 

Im sorry but i have stong belifes that if someone thinks they are the oposite gender for no good reason they have a slight mental disorder

and thanks for narrowing the scope to make it even easier to defend, even i am a little skeptical of people who claim a gender besides male or female, but just being trans or whatever is pretty solidly covered imo. i never got the "mental disorder" thing because that's basically the premise most people accepting of transgender people accept - there's some sort of brain development which causes people to feel as though they are a gender that doesn't match their physical sex. no one is denying this. the issue comes in how you treat it in order to best make the person feel happy, fulfilled and secure, and generally the best way to accomplish this is through acceptance & transitioning via hormones/surgery. it's a complicated issue and this is by no means a *perfect* solution, but it works far better than trying to coerce them into behaving as though their psychological gender matches their biology.

that's true biologically i guess but lots of cultures throughout history had genders aside from male and female

 

which was never supposed to exist. There should always be only male and female

edit: not really interested in expanding on this any further, my reply to you was mostly an offhand remark about the history of gender in society & as i said before i'm not entirely comfortable with defending the many discrete genders perspective since it comes up much less often and i'm much less familiar with it. if you wanna make a reply to my reply to gun im willing to take you up on it but this one is a dead end

double edit: relating to cctv's post below i'm only talking about the psychological concept of gender, biological sex is determined by chromosomes and not really worth debating

 

Well, technically, due to chromosomes messing up, you can have different genders or both genders: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersex , as they do not have the proper straight-cut XY or XX, some people have a combination of three or even four, they're that messed up.
However, I agree with Imbetterthanyo , as these 'genders' aren't fertile it means they cannot reproduce to make more of the same chromosome combination.

 

If anyone was to think they are another gender I would not shame them for that. The only good reason for a gender change (imo) is when things got mixed up at birth eg he/she. When there are actual malfunctions with the biology of the person.

 

Let's just kill the gender debate by citing Jordan Peterson's logic. I obviously have much stronger opinions on this but I compromise with allowing them to do as they please without hassle so long as they don't infringe on my freedom of speech. That was the debate that brought Peterson into the spotlight, where he said nothing really except that he would refuse to be forced by law to refer to people as the pronouns of their choice. It should not be illegal to refuse to say something. That is my main grievance with the LGBT community is that it has gone beyond "we are (insert identification here)" and has started becoming oppressive.

 

I agree with this^.I think it started out as something good but then the community turned into a bunch of narcissistic feminists. (Insert a bunch of reasons and facts and stuffs) Its okay to be LGBT but you don't have to shove your ideas down my throat.
