i completely understand your example of 2d beings seeing 3d objects which would be weird, but we've never seen a 4d object so yeah

Honestly though, most things that have high fructose corn syrup are cheap brands these days. Not everything has it. Just have to read the label and pick brands that don't have it. Generally, healthier brands don't have it. My parents have been able to easily avoid buying foods with high fructose corn syrup for the passed ~10 years. It's not hard once you start paying attention.

I did not know the issue wit high fructose corn syrup was a US problem though. Interesting to know.

edit: just noticed the part where you said that you searched for cheap variants. Still, foods without high fructose corn syrup aren't really that much more expensive than foods with it. That bit is definitely exaggerated.
