alright gang so many of you signed up that it makes this kind of awkward lol. last year's collab had 24 participants max i believe if you include people who dropped out, and that one took a stupid amount of time to complete, as well as effort to keep it organized on my part. this year there's 36 people who i think could participate, and im not putting myself through that stress since i dont have time for it. ive come up w 3 ways to help alleviate this for myself:
option 1 (hub world option): i (w help from a few other authors most likely) will create a detailed hubworld that will serve as a warp to levels you guys submit to me. i'd only be keeping the best levels/tracks people submit, so i'm not sure how many people would be involved
pros: would 100% result in the best track possible, super unique and cool idea that i think could be utilized really well here, considering how many different styles we have participating. would allow for a ton of freedom, arguably more than in other ghosting collabs, and would be very easy for me to make into one track. mr..a's collabs worked similar to this and they were finished in like a month or two, which is ideal.
cons: would have to give people additional minor feedback on where to put portals. would require everyone to detail their sections (and i know this is a collab aimed towards ghosters, so i know you dont like detailing).
option 2 (stricter list option): pretty self explanatory, i am just super strict with the list of people participating in the collab
pros: results in a pretty good track, albeit similar to older ghosting collabs
cons: still pretty stressful for me, would take a long time (upwards of 6 months at least). only people on the list making a section of the track, which sucks since i want as many people participating (or at least making a section) as possible
option 3 (keep things the same option): keep everything the same and let all 36 people participate
pros: everyone participates, eryp dies
cons: track is a mess and will take eons to complete. is boring because of how large it is and how similar in theory it is to older collabs. eryp also dies
i am a huge proponent of option 1, since i think itd lead to the best track possible, and to a really cool and unique track in general. that said i can understand why people wouldnt want it, since itd require detail. so feel free to respond w any feedback you have about any of these options or any other ideas you may have to resolve the issue here
