SMALL ANNOUNCEMENT:

After announcing that we might do an End of Season Tournament after the "regular ORG season", I'm here to confirm that the team decided to do that. Some details are still being discussed, but I get the point of view of some people that think that the "regular season" should be the one being rewarded the most since this was what people signed up for, so we'll probably do a mix of both ideas. We'll probably end the ORG regular season at the end of November, where we'll probably have some custom medals (for maybe top 5, maybe top 10) for that and maybe some prizes if we can (we are still figuring the details of that part). In December we'll probably do a 4-week eliminatory tournament with the top 16 ranked players from ORG. We'll probably have the traditional top 3 ghosting contest medals for this and also maybe some prizes if we can. I feel like it'll be a cool idea. The placements from the regular ORG season are probably going to help the contestants in the End of Season Tournament, since the 1st place will be facing the 16th place, 2nd will be facing 15th, 3rd will be facing the 14th... you guys get the idea. Any questions or ideas for that are welcome, so just let us know about them. Yeah, we are still figuring things out, but this is a rough idea on how it's going to work.

Also, we may or may not be planning to do at least one vehicle round soon enough, so prepare yourselves (if you are going to complain, do it now, lol).

PS: In the spreadsheet you can see now the top 16 players highlighted in green in the Pos. (position/placement) column on the left, so you know what the End of Season Tournament qualification zone looks like

well the positioning for that tournament is surely impacting the players, especially when you put 1st against 16th...

Yeah, but that's kind of the point. If you manage to stay in first after like 40 weeks, you should have an advantage coming from it. It's not like the 16th place can't win, you have just one chance per round to succeed in the championship at the end of year, so anything can happen. We had major upsets in eliminatory stages on ghosting contests before, even in the Free Rider World Cup 5 in the beginning of the year. Right now that 1st vs 16th match would be a RedOrBlue vs Arroww. Really dope match.

I think the end of year contest is a cool idea as long as it doesn't affect the final rankings of the ORG season, but mixing the two ideas could be interesting as well depending on how it's done. Giving higher ranking players an advantage in the contest as a reward for doing well in the ORG season is a nice touch as well. Also to build off the medal idea, it might be cool to make it a Grandmaster Medal to give to all the ghosters who finish the season in grandmaster rank ("ORG S1 GrandMaster Medal" or something). Of course that wouldn't be much of a reward if lots of people get a score that high ,which it looks like a lot of people will considering there's still 24 weeks left (accounting for time taken out from contests it'll probably come down to only 19 or 20 weeks actually). So in that case it would probably be better to just stick with the general top 5 or top 10. cool ideas all-round.

Hey, guys. Finished updating the spreadsheet. Honestly, in many aspects this was one of the best rounds of the contest. Many cool ghosting battles in every rank (even Wood), many cool ghosts, a decent amount of players completing, a cool track as well. Really cool round. This time we had the first defeat of RedOrBlue in the contest. It took 16 weeks and an inspired Cerasium to do it (even though RedOrBlue beat him back in the track after the end of the round, lol). Still, RedOrBlue remains in 1st place and is still the only one in the Diamond rank. After gaining 81 points, Cerasium passed DrChill again, this time only by 3 points, and he's now the 2nd place. DrChill is on 3rd place after taking a break last week, still on the Platinum rank, just like Cerasium. I'm keeping the 4th place so far and I'm back in the Platinum rank (yay. gg CL21, tho) . Chaos-Fallen is back on 5th place.

Some shoutouts to benclayton13 for the 5 straight wins and getting on Gold really fast, to epicfrog for 5 straight wins as well, to Coated_Badger for reaching the Gold rank after 4 straight wins and to Venti, that is recovering on Bronze rank after a bad start, getting 4 wins in a row as well. But we felt like on such a long contest like this we needed to have a vehicle track at some point. The helicopter is the most popular vehicle, so we selected this track from Madara, that we believe that isn't too hard or too easy. Also, we think it has enough checkpoints, so I think most people can complete it. You guys have 72 hours to complete the track, have fun! I'll tag people in the track soon.
