i see a lot of people complaining about featured tracks atm. instead of the negative comments how about you work harder and put out some decent content yourselves, look at every recent featured track and you see time and effort has been spent on them

if a certain track gets featured and it's not your thing, fair enough. but the time it takes to type salty comments about that track, if you spend that time on the editor instead you might end up with something productive

Yours in particular had literally no detail. Doodling a mammoth in a corner has never and should never be featurable.
With this kind of decrease in standards, the incentive to produce high quality tracks just lessens and lessens

agreed. the track was amazing. and a track doesn't specifically need to be detailed to be featured, this just goes to show how good the ride of the track was to get it featured in the first place.

 

I don’t mind that a track is featured for ride. The problem is mr.a’s ride is quite average. Using teleport to ride a section multiple times has been done by many many ppl; its not innovative at this pt. Also, a good rides gotta be smooth to an extent, geometric in theme, and shouldnt be acclaimed for curve tool spam.

Thats bull and you know it. Rewarding big cave tracks with trash ride and trash detail encourages stagnation and demotivates growth.

Sad that yall never featured autos, because theres a lot more precision required for those than ride centered tracks. With the tracks you mentioned there was always been a thematic element worth noting. If mr.a had expanded on the theme of mammoths more than infrequently doodling and filling blank space, I’d agree with you. But as it stands, the mammoth is quite underwhelming. Totally agree that trees are boring af, theyre just busy work for anyone who can draw. Thats why I always said zgolex’s tracks shouldnt be featured. But it seems the feature team features on whim rather than reasoning and justifies in hindsight.

Geometric in theme? That’s actually a bullshjat requirement for a ride-based track. Tracks like Alice actually have an interesting theme going with them instead of just random grid lines. Also, what do you even mean by curve tool spam? I’m reading that now and Curve tool spam just sounds like using curves in all of the jumps, and from my (while limited) experience, creating a good ride without the curve tool is actually near impossible, if not really hard, even with tons of effort put in to it. And if, according to you “tracks don’t have to be good or have effort put into it to be featured” then “curve tool spam” shouldn’t even be a problem.

What, the rides on Ae_cave03 and Ae_cave04 were trash because you couldn’t just have your finger on the up key while pressing some other buttons every now and then?

I can name tons of auto/holdup tracks that have been featured. Shadowland was an auto, the first part of SOTC was a holdup, most of ItzChuckNorris’s feats are basically just holdups, and much more. I think you’re just saying that because you’re pretty good at autos and want tons of recognition.

Okay, now you’re just contradicting yourself. Before, you said that a ride-focused track has to be uber-geometric to be good, and now they can have other themes. If I were you then I’d go and pick one before a mod temporarily locks this thread. Also with what you said after that, the difference is, Aego’s and Zgolex’s tracks were featured because of effort, which while having not the best detail, still at least encourages people to put effort into their tracks. And mR..A’s track does indeed, have some effort put into it.

It really all depends what you find good. For me, most of the recent featured tracks have been okay for me, but I’m pretty sure that for you, there is only like 32 good tracks on the DB, which is far from true. Now you might be saying “but those are just opinions”. That would be like saying that the earth isn’t flat or round because they’re “just opinions”, and that literally every single piece of science, is just an opinion.

Honestly I’m just sick and tired of people arguing over a single golden ribbon icon. Is it really all that important to you guys? How about instead of wasting all your effort on trying to argue your point across, how about you spend it on, y’know, actually making a track that has everything you mentioned? All in all I would rather be actually productive than waste my time arguing on the forums of an unpopular online biking game, even though this is the longest thing I’ve posted here and probably will be forever, because of me having a life outside of this game.

thanks Ishu you just clarified what i said earlier. you don't like my new track in particular, no worries you can't please everyone. but i'm sure the negative essay you just wrote took some time, maybe 5+ minutes.. if you spent that time on the editor instead you could've drawn a nice tree with some grass around it

Welp. Guess I quit my project.

 

Honestly for me (And probably other non-artists) it actually makes me want to make a quality track more. I am definitely not great at detail, but with more tracks being featured I know that if I put enough time in I have a chance
