PSSST MIXTAPE CONTEST - #FREEPHASE

Intro:

RIP X. RIP Lil Peep. RIP Vinnie Paul. It seems lately were losing so many great musicians to various reasons, however, they all live on through their music. This goes for all artists, even though we have living legends right now, we’re all human. And we all need to have that piece in life, where even when we’re gone, people can say: they made that. This contest is to celebrate that fact.

Going into the purpose of the contest, I want each participant to pick a song by any musical artist, and portray the message of that song within that track. Of course, there is a lot of ways you could do this, you could use the lyrics of the song itself to paint the imagery within the track or make a track depicting the culture that that music at the time of release would appeal to. Or even songs with iconic music videos could be used as inspiration.

Rules:

1. Pick an individual song by an artist, and announce it in this thread, no song can be done twice
2. Make a track based around that song
3. Title the track by the name of the song you chose
4. Post the track and reply here with a link before 23:59pm on July 13th

There will be no judging, the winners of the contest will be decided by a poll after the contest is over, where each person will have 3 votes.

Prizes:

1st place will receive $50, 2nd place $30 and 3rd place $20, or something of equal respective monetary value, ie a video game or gift card via mail. Or an online game subscription like frhd pro.

However I’m also a person of culture and would like to send the winner a CD or Vinyl of an album instead, if they so choose, unless said album is out of print and ridiculously expensive to obtain.

Char also mentioned pro, coins and potentially stickers for the winner. We’ll see what happens.

Also, like the Halloween contest last year, my end goal is to have a group of tracks together worthy to be a standalone campaign. Hopefully, in the future we’ll be able to see a Music Campaign or hopefully Free Rider Mixtape Vol.1
