Alright, since nobody else has done so yet, I shall.

    Free Rider is dying. Because:
    1. Nobody makes anything unique in their tracks! Make something that isn't smooth or lightly detailed that will catch the average player's eye, not some easy flowy stuff that is copied and copied.
    2. Listen to criticism! People criticise your tracks in an attempt to improve it for you!
    3. "Rate Up plzzz" Forcing people to rate your tracks well is just foolish and not needed. At all. People should rate the track if they think it is good or not.
    4. Stop making tracks so easy!! Yes, for new players it's good to create tracks to suit their difficulty, but not all tracks should be easy, because people will farm points and argh god.
    5. STOP. POSTING. PREVIEWS. Previews ruin the tension of a Work-In-Progress track (WIP).
    6. The one thing that pisses me off.
STOP WITH THE LINE SCRIBBLE BARF GOD DAMNIT. (If you don't know what I mean, look below at the vicious monstrosity.)[IMG]
    Take this in mind.
Please, for the sake of FR2, FR3 and all future versions.

    1. Agreed.
    2. AGREED 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x.
    3. I down rate all tracks that do that.
    4. I don't mind easy tracks, though I like difficult ones too. Some tracks that you find hilariously easy might be a challenge to newer players.
    5. Some people need the motivational boost to finish the track, but I somewhat agree. Previews are used too much.
    6. I've seen tracks that would of looked alright without that scribble lol.

Haha! Something tells me not many people will like this, but I definetely agree with some of it; especially points 2 and 3. But the reason why a lot of people don't make hard tracks is because they think it will frustrate (new) players, which it usally does.

1.What! Have you seen any of my "Path Finder" tracks! id say that those are unique. dont go around sayin that nobody does something just because it's rare.
    2.AMEN
3.Not always, sometimes that is just a reminder to show a little appreciation for all the work the creator has taken to make an AWESOME track that only recieves 10 likes.most of the time it's like what you say, but not always.
4.I agree. Easy tracks eventually get boring.
5.I think your mostly right here. Exept when they post allot of junk on the forums about a WIP and some one wants a preview, but You are mostly right about this one.
6.Most of the time this is the case. but some times it adds texture.

That is my point of view

I agree with 1 and 4, most tracks consist of both of these. There is nothing wrong with that however it makes many tracks similar and repetitive.

I don't think free rider is dying.. I think it is bigger and better then ever!
    1) People need to develop their own style of making tracks, so if that is something lightly detailed and flowy then okay. If it is impossible and crazy detailed okay. I think that track creators need to make tracks that they enjoy. So as long as they aren't copying tracks then all good! (In my opinion)
    2) Totally agreed! I am always hoping to receive some
    3) Yes this is irritating but I do think it is fair to remind poeple to rate your track at the end with a "what did you think?" Or something like that.
    4) Easy tracks can be fun though. If all tracks were hard or even the majority it would greatly reduce the interest in FRHD, I personally prefer harder tracks too (Hence why I have mad a lot of my tracks challenging) but IMO it is up to people like us who know the game and are looking for the challenge to go out and find those challenging tracks.
    5) Yes I can agree with this in MOST cases. But I did once post a preview simply because I was unsure if it would be a well received style of track and I wanted to get a better feel for it before I spent all the time to make the whole thing.
    6) I think if that is how someone want to do their track let them do it and don't make them feel bad if they can't (or even are to lazy) to add extra detail. Some people are not as creative, so let them do whatever makes them happy. If you don't like the track move on, I just don't think it would be good to make a big deal out of that style of track making because it is a good way for a newer track maker to get more familiar with detail and they can wrok up to something better as they play the game (I did) and if you make them feel bad about doing it that way they might lose heart all together and that will kill FR in the long run.

    That is my thoughts :)

Then be the one that encourages change, I guess that is the point of your post ;)

If you don't already, try leading in with positives to encourage people, "great first track I like what you did with blah, but..." you will get a better response than just saying it is bad (not saying that is how you give feedback you very well may be giving good feedback)
Agreed, we could filter out "Rate and Like" from the titles. "Like baiting" tracks are not encouraged, we could make that a rule, it is just the enforcement of it.
Campaigns will help as higher level tracks will be tough and give players progression / opportunity to get better (that is the idea anyways). Do you have any ideas around this?

I agree to the points, more or less, but FRHD is not dying. More popularity = more crap.

Yo! The only reason tracks like auto and Sm0oth got so many likes is because when they came out there was not nearly as many tracks. I think a little reminder at the end of a track or something is reasonable.

Having said that, I would also like to point out that a huge 30-graph-block-high "Rat +1 Pleese" is NOT reasonable. If your going to incorporate words into your tracks, they should be spelled right and at least look nice. don't uglify a track with "Rat +1 PleEse".

Sorry but I couldn't figure out how to spell uglify

I don't agree, the stars right below the track are all that are needed for reminder. If I see a track I like, I want to rate it up. If I don't want to rate it up, I'm not going to just because the track tells me to.
    But that's just my opinion.

Honestly I see both of your points and I think that you are both right.. I think that the stars are probably enough reminder but if you feel like you want to remind someone you should have the freedom to do so.

How about people set the difficulty of the track and this determines how many points you get?

Something needs to be done about the top rated tracks. No one wants to down vote a 5 star track with 1 vote on it. Tracks should need 20 votes or something to be able to get in the top rated
