Ghosting Battle Contest 5
Hello! Welcome to the 5th instalment of the Ghosting Battle Contest!
First hosted by Madara in 2019, the GBC is the perfect contest for ghosters of all skill levels to participate in 10 tracks to find out who is the best ghoster in FRHD. We have been in a ghosting contest drought for a while, and Totoca12 has given me the reins to host this legendary contest.

Layout
There will be 10 rounds where players must ghost a newly created track. Ghosters are given 48 hours to complete the track or improve their time as much as possible. There is no penalty for not completing the track. You are competing to earn the most points. The higher up you place when the round ends, the more points you get. There will be 24 hours between rounds.
The timing of rounds is final, no changes, so everyone has a fair chance to ghost the track. The only time the contest will go off schedule is if a track for the next round is published late.

Points are awarded for how well you place on a track.

Rules
1. To participate in the contest, you must say “In”. For people who don’t check forums, I will accept people who say “In” on the promotion track or round tracks. You can only participate in the contest once you say “In”.
2. Times made after a round ends will not count. The times for each round will be displayed once, approximately 24 hours or halfway into the round, then updated on the spreadsheet when the round ends. The in-game leaderboard may contain players who didn’t announce they are participating; the correct leaderboard will be on the spreadsheet in this thread.
3. Regular ghosting contest rules apply; the use of TAS or illegal scripts is prohibited. The use of any bike or vehicle glitches is also banned. Failure to comply will result in an immediate disqualification from the contest, and possible forum and Ghosting Awards/Featured Ghosts bans.
4. Failure to record a time on a track will result in 0 points for that round. You are not eliminated from the contest; you can always earn more points in the next round. Completing a track will guarantee you 1 point.
5. You can join the contest at any time, just remember to say "In", and you won’t be able to score in the rounds you missed.
Prizes
GBC Trophy Medals for the top 3 players, as well as cash prizes!
1st: $50 AUD
2nd: $25 AUD
3rd: $10 AUD
Bonus: The player who finishes the contest highest who has never held a featured ghost before will potentially earn the Rising Star Ghoster Medal (TBC)
Why you should join
The contest is very easy to participate in. No qualifying rounds, no elimination rounds. You just say “In”, and you earn points from simply completing the track to placing well. You will battle people for placements on a track and the overall contest leaderboard. Most importantly, you will become a better ghoster with a good variety of tracks that most people can complete in!
Trackmakers
I am accepting trackmakers! If you want to make a track for the contest, say “In as trackmaker” in the thread. You can still participate as a ghoster, so if you want to do both, say “In as ghoster and in as trackmaker” or something along those lines, and you will be added to the lists. A Trackmaker can only publish 1 track (at the moment), so ideally, we need 10 trackmakers.
Trackmaker Guidelines
1. Tracks must not include curved or vertical tubes and extreme RNG. No hard trials or completely smooth tracks, mix it up a bit, not easy but not hard. You can get inspiration from previous GBC or FRWC tracks.
2. Tracks should be around 20-50 seconds. Tracks over 1 minute will encourage fewer people to ghost it. If it’s over 1 minute, ensure the difficulty is consistent.
3. Short vehicle powerup sections are accepted, around 10 seconds long (only 1 section in a track). Ensure these sections have no glitches and are completable by everyone. I will only accept a couple of tracks that contain a vehicle powerup section. I want some variety, but to ultimately keep the tracks in this contest pure.
4. All tracks should be made for MTB. I will make a poll in the thread if people want 1-2 tracks to be BMX.
5. Once you finish your track, make a conversation with me on the forums so that we can organise when you can publish the track. If you have a problem with your track or want to check something in it, you can also DM me on Discord: Mr.Phoenix (tomo385)
