Anyone remember the old CR poster contest from years ago, or has anyone ever seen those old tracks? Classics like Ness' Contest Entry, PlasticPineapple's Contest Entry, or the winning entry, Leboulanger's Contest Entry? Well now you have the chance to create your own! The next iteration of the contest more than 7 years after the original has arrived, and today's current members have the opportunity to compete and create more classics that will be looked at with the same admiration tracks from the original contest are looked at today.
Enter this contest and make a good poster track to win some MONEY, A POSTER OF YOUR TRACK, OR MAYBE EVEN VIP!!!!!!!

Goal:
To create a unique, space-filling, fun track within the confines of the large box provided. This contest forces you to focus on unusually large-scale detail due to the time constraint and physical size of the box provided, so please keep that in mind when making your track. You want your track to be large enough and with a large enough theme so that it'd look good on a wall poster. Take a look at the previously mentioned entries from the first contest; you can see that they all fill their respective boxes with this kind of detail.

Groundrules:

• Changes to the appearance of the poster are allowed, as long as the general shape of the box is maintained. When I'm able to I'll post an image to better explain what I mean, but for now this means you can make changes to the border as long as the shape is kept more or less the same
• No collabs or entries that were started before the start of the contest. This is hard to police obviously, so please honor this. If it's discovered you did either of these things you'll be disqualified
• Nothing that'd violate FRHD's rules
• One entry per person. If you somehow make 2 or more tracks for this contest, pick 1 to be judged
• Track must be completable
• Track must be made within 1 of the 2 boxes attached in the code below
• Starting point can be anywhere within the box. Meaning the track mover is allowed: https://codepen.io/Plygon/full/PNWOJN
• Other track making tools like the track combiner or whatever else are allowed. Will clarify that generators are allowed if and only if their power isn't abused, meaning no extra large code sizes, no excessive animations or anything else. I would recommend against using it at all as it'll probably get your entry docked a few points

Recommended things to include:

• Track should fill the box. If there are empty spaces in the track that don't detract from the overall appearance, that's obviously fine. But for the most part you should be aiming to fill the entire poster. It'd defeat the purpose of the large size if you don't
  
• Something pertaining to FRHD or the contest itself would be cool to have. Some of the original tracks had cool CR designs in them, so if you feel the urge to do something similar for this, be my guest.
• Make your track feel like a poster! This is called the "Poster Contest" for a reason!

PRIZES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:
And now for the big draw! I'm still not 100% sure on the prizes, but everything written here right now is concrete and will NOT be changing:

• 1st Place: At least US$100, a poster or T-shirt of your track
• 2nd Place: At least US$50
• 3rd Place: At least US$25
• 4th place: At least US$10
• 5th place: A big, socially-distanced hug

There will also be a US$5 prize for every participant whose track is featured. You can look at it like this: I'm paying you for featured tracks.
Money will be sent out on cashapp, venmo, or paypal. T-shirt/poster will be figured out when the time comes
I'm also hoping that someone will help make medals for this contest, and the amount of people that receive medals will depend on the amount of participants in the contest
If anyone wants to donate anything towards the contest, you're also more than welcome to. It's not expected of anyone tho

Judging:
Judging will be done by one of the kings of large-scale detail and VIP Elibloodthirst , another VIP in Netsik , and myself.
As of the writing of this post I'm not 100% positive on the wording of some of these categories, but we'll have it figured out over the weekend and updated by Monday so people will not have to worry about flubbing a category.
Composition of your track (10 pts.): Does your track fill the entirety of the space given to you? Does it look like a completed product? When looked at in its entirety, do certain areas draw away from the overall appearance? Would your track look good as a poster? etc. etc.
Detail (10 pts): Is the detail of your track indicative of a solid effort put in? Is your track messy? Does the detail in the track fit with the ride given? etc. etc.
Ride (7 pts): Is the ride cohesive? Does it go along w the detail provided? Are your CPs placed well? Is it fun to play? etc. etc. This category is worth less than the previous 2 because I don't expect you to be making an incredible ride in this very large space so much as I am expect you to make a ride that goes along with what you're making in your poster.
Uniqueness of idea (3 pts): Points given on this scale: 3: Great, unique track idea that goes well with the poster theme 2: Your standard, run-of-the-mill track theme but with some individual innovative sections in some places of the track 1: Run-of-the-mill track idea with nothing special 0: Your idea is so appalling that you deserve to feel pain for all eternity
Bonus Points: Each judge will give +1 point to their favorite entry.
Total: 30 points, with potential for 3 more

If you find yourself stuck on anything or are looking for advice with anything, reach out to Ishu , author of the recently featured 'Tropisms' and who has bravely volunteered to be a part of this (though this is likely because he is too lazy to complete an entry himself). He'll be willing to give you advice on your entry or how to improve with your detailing skills.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 PM EST on November 10, 2020
Late entries will be accepted until 11:59 EST Nov. 11, 2020 with a 5 point deduction penalty

going to clarify this since there's already a bit of confusion: this does NOT mean you can change the size of the box/poster. the shape of the box can be changed within reason, meaning if you want to you can indent one of the sides if it'll help make your entry look better. the only thing about this is that the overall shape of the box has to be maintained. so no making the box into a circle, for instance
