FRHD trials (racing series)

Alright guys, as promised, I am doing another series! This one is going to be slightly different then the last. It is going to be a 7 round series. Each round will last exactly one week. (unless announced otherwise) At the end of each track, there is a deadline. At that deadline, the top 10 ghosters will be awarded points based off of their placing. See the points table below for a better idea on how that will work. Any ghosts that make it into the top ten after the deadline will not be counted so be sure to pay attention to the deadlines if you want to be in the top ten by the end of the series. This series is going to have 7 unique tracks, all completely different from each other. So that way we can (in theory) find the best FRHD ghosters out there. Obviously there is no way to know for sure who is the very best. But at the end of this you will certainly have some bragging rights. Anyway, all the tracks are going to be different, so don't think just because you did good in the first 2-3 it will be easy I might surprise you..

*IMPORTANT* I am adding a new aspect to this series! Each round there will be an extra 5 bonus points up for grabs for the "most stylish" ghost. This will be judged by me and one other. We will give each of the top ten ghosts a score of 1-10 based on smoothness and how much flare you have. By flare I mean doing something crazy and different. Then I will add the two scores together and average them. The racers with the 2 highest average scores will win 5 and 3 points! In the even of a tie, all of the ghosters will receive the points for whatever position they are tied for. If there is a tie for 1st, I will still award second place points. I will post you style score for each round here. So if you make it in the top ten, make sure you check back to see how close you got or if you actually were the most stylish!

Also the final round, (round 7) will be double points! That means 30 points for 1st, 24 for 2nd and so on. Enjoy!

TIE BREAKERS (open) TIE BREAKERS (close)

In the even of a tie, I have put in place these things to prevent any debate on what should happen.
If two or more people have the same time at the deadline, they will all receive points for whatever the highest position out of the tie is. For example,
if 2nd, 3rd and 4th all have a time of 22.31, they will all receive 2nd place points. IMPORTANT! If you have the same time as the 10th placed ghost but are not shown on the leaderboard, take a screen capture of your time and PM it to me here BEFORE the deadline for that round and as long as that time stays in 10th, you will receive 10th place points as well.
In the event that there is a tie in points at the end of the series, ties will be broken as follows.
1) Most wins
2) Next best finish (or if no wins for either, this would be the first tie breaker)
3) Finish in the final round (round 7)
4) Whoever was able to place a ghost in the top 10 first in the series

If you are confused on what exactly "most stylish" is defined as in this contest, it is stated above. "We will give each of the top ten ghosts a score of 1-10 based on smoothness and how much flare you have. By flare I mean doing something crazy and different." So I look at how smooth your run is first of all. Then what will bump you up above everyone else is doing weird stuff like flips or "z" or even using brakes. That kind of stuff. Just try and stand out while being smooth. Watch Ficus' run from the last round. Perfect example of what I am looking for. Also the second judge is the person who originally introduced me to Free Rider. They are not in this community at all and are as impartial as anyone can get

Totally forgot about this contest. I would have competed, but I'm so busy working on tracks

 

I feel that the scoring system is slightly flawed. Is there not a possibility that it is impossible for some people to win because they cannot play the older tracks?

 

Well this round is over. But you can do something awesome in round 3 That backflip is just the kind of thing I am looking for. It was pretty awesome I would have given that run a 9.2

Yes it is definitely flawed but it the best I could do. It is certainly possible to miss one track and still win but not very likely. If you miss two then it is realistically impossible to win. That is why I am going to make a big deal out of everyone who makes it into the top 10 overall Because that will be quite an accomplishment! I think just earning some points in the series is a pretty nice accomplishment. Anyway, yes it is flawed but it is the best I can do for now. I am trying
