so seeing as this game is dead, i’ll just say a few things.
First of all the game died because the devs are lazy as ****. So many requests gone unacknowledged, theres even a thread that Char made with hundreds of suggestions. and he’s responded probably four times to anyone. When they finally decide to make something, they take ages. it took them months to recreate antigravity and teleports, which fantomeblacktree made in a few hours. And then all that work was banned.

Theres a reason you dont see detailed tracks or high quality autos nowadays. Because theres no incentive, no competition and no motivation. After maybe two or three tracks that i spent over 20 hrs on, everything becomes repetitive and as an artist it becomes stale. Even with autos, the same glitches get exploited and people can recreate them way too easily. Its easy to say that I’m not creative myself, but its a trend Ive been seeing with everybdoy for the last year or two. And I’ve found an auto glitch on this game that no one had done before or has been able to recreate (the unicycle glitch in “terrified”).

idk, theres prolly a ton of stuff I forgot to add.

    Yall can help me out

I spent a lot of time on this game drawing and connecting with people here so its sad to see the game fade. It would also be interesting to hear back from Char and the other devs

FRHD isn't quite dead. It seems a lot worse than it once was, though. Most of the "life" I see is in the form of spam on the forum and spam tracks.
I agree that the developers should probably update things more often, especially when they've been talking about certain updates for years. However, I wouldn't call them "lazy as ****." They did recently add the teleporter and anti-gravity. It took a really long time, but they might have had better things to do in life than update a free online biking game.
As for what you said about glitches, there are only two bike glitches and I think two helicopter glitches, and that limits the exploitation of glitches in auto tracks. I do however wish that there were more creative and detailed tracks.
If you consider "dying" to be declining numbers of well-made tracks, then freerider is indeed dying. The good authors, like you, are largely inactive or gone.
I'm also sad to see this game fade, but it's always helpful to remember that this is a videogame, and there are far more important things in life than this.

I don't think the game is dying I think there is still alot of players, but the players are too young to come on the forum and/or create quality tracks, I think it has something to do with how this game appeals to little kids and little kids only. If I had never seen FRHDs front page and came on and saw all the colours it would put me off, I would feel: "this is only a kids game"

Yup, I agree that my tracks are total trash, but it doesn't put me off. Part of the challenge is the bad artwork. At least Inversely likes them.

I agree. FR2 is definitely dead, and frhd seems on the verge of death. I think frhd would be dead without forums. But there are a ton of new players, but most are just little kids.

May I remind you that the devs don't really have an 'incentive' to update the game. They don't really have any competition from other sites and devs, and since this is a FREE online game, they don't really have any motivation in regards to money, unless someone buys pro. They just do stuff for the community most of the time, even if it has no advantage to them. I might even call you "lazy as ****" in regards to trackmaking.

may i remind you that ishu doesn't really have an 'incentive' to make tracks. he doesn't really have any competition from other current authors, and since this is a FREE online game, he doesn't really have any motivation in regards to money, unless someone pays him (illegally). he just makes tracks for the community most of the time, even if it hasno advantage to them. I might even call you"lazy as ****" in regards to your argument.

your argument is bad in that the devs are literally payed to update the game, and you're calling ishu lazy for... being a lazy trackmaker? the dude has a featured track, and is one of the better authors in the game. does that make him not lazy? no, but I would argue it makes him less lazy than "lazy as ****", as you say.
I do understand your point though, as this is a free game with not much going for it currently. however, I don't think that should warrant all the updates and community interaction that never came from the devs over the past 3 years.

nah, I'm just trying to reflect his own argument back on him, I'm not saying he's lazy. Also, the devs claim to have been working on the mobile version of the game for most of that time.

Edit: Yeah, I am lazy as ****, that doesn't insult me. For all I know, those four **** might stand for octo or ishu.

i dont think you understand how websites pull in revenue. Kano and other sites make money off of ads, thats why you see them on the site. They also make money when people purchase PRO which right now doesnt really have a purpose

Their incentive is definitely money, obviously that incentive hasnt been very motivating. Me however, as a trackmaker, I dont get paid. And ironically, my tracks make money for Kano. More tracks mean more clicks on frhd, which means more advertisers and more money. So when tracks stop being made, Kano has to worry about making money, eventually it will get to a point like bhr where one track will be posted every month or two. That situation wont happen for a while, but less tracks are being posted than say three years ago. Then, it was a new track every 15 secs. Now its one every 5 minutes so you can definitely see the rate of decrease
    lmao

I mean, their job is to maintain the game. Its like saying “I’m not gonna go to work today because I have better things to do”. Nobody’s gonna stop you, but there will be reprecussions eventually

mistatungtwista2 look, if you care about the game so much, why don't you learn how to code and become a dev? We'll see how active the site is then. I've been told by other programmers on the site that the code this game uses is rather simple, so I hope it won't be too hard for you to learn.

Can you or even imagine all the work that has been put in to this game?! Not to mention the physics,power-ups,and track code. Also they have been working a TON on the mobile game, so don’t start dissing on the devs. You also need to take into account that this is stil a free game, and I don’t think the devs are really making a ton off of this besides ads.

I still LOVE all of the free rider games. Thanks to anyone who helped create and run this game! :);):p:cool::)
