first i featured it cus of the detail, then i realized its actually not possible to complete, so i unfeatured it
i wish you made the ride good. even if you actually are able to complete it with spacebar now, there will soon come a time when you are forced to ride tracks the proper way.
i think we need the function where you have to finish your track before upload for officials too.
/ridehate, the detail is unreal and so dense, i love it! you should make a longer track with this + a ride that's manageable for the majority, so that everyone can enjoy it

As it is rapidly spreading as a way to ride tracks, it may eventually evolve into a factor that makes newcomers easier discouraged, thus affecting popularity of the game in a negative fashion. Tracks like this, that are created for spacebarring is also a rapidly growing, and negative trend that might put some breaks on the increasing popularity of FRHD as they are slowly making their way into hot/trending and featured.
FRHD is the first site to be more racing-oriented than track oriented (arguably), and it's not meant for alternative ways than the proper way of riding tracks. It ruins the whole system for all newcomers/people who don't know, except for the people who does it (forum members in majority).
Spacebarring is the main reason why we can't have official racing contests, nor a database list for featured races.
Yes, there are many perspectives to view this from, and we are very much aware of all the statements and arguments made by pro-spacebarrers. Neither me or char support it, and due to this latest trend, I'm pushing him abit when it comes to developing a solution to this concern.

As spruce mentioned, char's suggested solution is to get rid of the hotkey-pause function. While I have suggested a more soft solution (and way more complicated unfortunatly), by increasing the time between you pause, and when you may un-pause. 1 second would be efficient enough to prevent cheating.
Probably exposing myself for alot of hate by the community now, but these are my opinions, and in long term, it may secure the future of this game, aswell as more plays/likes/support to your tracks/ghosts, which is more important to me. It would also make further developing of the whole racing concept, such as ghost likes, comments, features etc, more likely to happen.
However, I'm not the developer, and I am in no way talking on behalf of Char right now.

 

I so agree that spacebarring is ruining FRHD. I approve the idea of having a certain amount of time between pauses, but 1 second would still cause ppl to use it. I was thinking more like every 3-4 seconds-ish. Because, if you need to pause ur game every 1 second, ur still not riding legit :/

There's no space bar on I pad, if I really wanted too I could pause spam and sort of space bar on I pad

You see there has to be a mix of both, if there was no spacebarring tracks then some of the pros wouldn't have as much fun, but noobs tend to like really easy smooth tracks, so the differences are huge
also the spacebarring feature is not a bad one it makes fun ghosts to watch and adds hard ghosts and challenges to beat which is cool imo, i feel that people need to chill about how a track is built. if Gravity Cave was featured because it was really easy i think this should be featured because it has good detail

 

Spacebarring isnt fun, its a way to make faster ghosts. Whether that is fun or not is debatable. The ghosts are unreal, but thats the point; they ARE unreal, and you cant do them without the spacebar
There is a difference between a challenge and something that is actually impossible to beat. Certainly skilled ghosters are always going to be skilled regardless of the spacebar, but without it even they admit they wont have as high quality runs
Gravity Cave wasnt featured because it was easy, but because of the detail and the ride. I may not necessarily agree with it but I can see the reasoning behind it. I agree with Stig here; without the spacebar you cant really make any competitive ghosts and considering that only a small amount of people use the spacebar, it is only logical to either take it out or create restrictions

Now for threads actual purpose; the track. CityShep I honestly think that your detail has no bounds. Each time you create something you get better and better. This is no exception. The cave detail that you have created is amazing and the layout of the track is insanely cool. Shame I cant try and ghost it, but I definitely respect the work youve put into it. Nice stuff
